Only The Paranoid Survive
About four years ago I was immersed in entrepreneurship which we could describe as: the science of creating and maintaining successful businesses.
I then read the quote from Andy Grove, the former CEO of Intel. It was also the title of his book: "only the paranoid survive" and its precisely correct in the context of entrepreneurship, but also it's equally correct for managing your finances.
Things change all the time, interest rates, inflation, prices of foods and fuel. The financial system we desperately rely on can collapse, if not now then eventually, temporarily and not permanently.
Which is why we all need to be just a little bit paranoid, just enough to save, invest, plan, manage, and get ready for the worst possible scenarios, while still expecting the best to happen, but knowing that if things didn't go right, you're on solid ground.
Being just a little bit paranoid might help you survive very unfortunate and possible events.
