I Need Your Input On This!
I posted this here because I know you guys sure been in this situation before or at least it's easy for you to understand where I'm coming from, I'll be waiting for your input on this.
I'm standing at a crossroads, and I don’t know which path to take. On one side, there’s my startup—the business I started almost a month ago. It’s not just about me. Four other people are counting on me to close deals, bring in sales, and make the business succeed. They believed in me, in my ability to sell, and in the vision we built together. If I stay on this path, I’m committing to the risk, to the fight, to the long road of building something great. But there’s no guarantee of immediate success, and right now, I need money fast.
On the other side, there’s a way out—a more secure option that would allow me to get the money I need to pay off my debt. The thought of financial relief is tempting. My instincts are screaming at me to rescue myself first. It's survival. It’s human nature to want stability, to escape the weight of financial pressure as quickly as possible. But if I take this path, I’d be leaving behind my team, the people who trusted me. I’d be putting an end to something that hasn’t even had the chance to prove itself yet.
So here I am, caught between two choices. One is the responsible thing to do for the people around me. The other is the responsible thing to do for myself. But which one is truly right? Should I bet on my ability to push through and make my startup work, even if it takes time and sacrifices? Or should I choose the safer route, clear my debt, and start fresh—without the weight of responsibility for others?
I don’t have the answer yet. Maybe you’ve been in a situation like this before. Maybe you’ve faced a choice where both paths felt equally necessary, yet completely opposite. What would you do if you were in my shoes?
My advice is, you can't start any business in debt because you initiate upon deficit which is bad. Is there perhaps a way to accommodate both of these paths? Debt is one of the most evil ways that the sub-human predator class, sabotages financial progression and deletes wealth and that is by design. It's a horrible trap they set baiting it with material trappings or using credit to get out of debt.
So, if you ask me what I would do, I would work on eliminating the debt first while doing everything to prepare to start up my business. Also, eliminating debt will raise your credit rating which is important for any future business loans and it makes your business more solvent from the start.
"Debt is one of the most evil ways that the sub-human predator class, sabotages financial progression and deletes wealth and that is by design." I literally couldn't agree more with this, too bad I learned this too late. As you said, it's by design
I also agree with you that starting a business while you're in debt adds extra stress that could threaten the whole business. I'll try my best to work on two paths at the same time even if it means giving just half my attention to each and I'll be ready to drop that business anytime if I feel it's going to stand in my way of paying off my debt. Your opinion means a lot to me and it was a real eye-opener that it shouldn't be just black or white, right or left. Thanks man I really appreciate your comment
You're welcome.
