Cumpleaños de Ravi // Ravi's birthday

Primero que todo les deseo un excelente día. Esta vez les traigo nuestra experiencia en el cumpleaños de Ravi Lourenço. La invitación nos la hizo su mamá de manera informal cuando nos encontramos en la reinauguración de un parque en las afueras de la ciudad. Ella me dijo que no había tenido tiempo de llevarme la invitación y que la disculpara por eso, pero que fuese a acompañarlos el siguiente sábado, en un local de la ciudad.
Ravi es el hijo de una prima de mi hija, por alguna razón aunque yo no tengo mucho contacto con la familia de mi hija después de mi separación, ella tuvo el detalle de invitarnos y me sentí agradecida, porque sabía que Amanda se divertiría mucho.
First of all I wish you an excellent day. This time I bring you our experience at Ravi Lourenço's birthday. The invitation was made to us informally by his mother when we met at the reinauguration of a park on the outskirts of the city. She told me that she had not had time to bring me the invitation and to excuse her for that, but to come and join them the following Saturday, at a venue in the city.
Ravi is my daughter's cousin's son, and for some reason even though I don't have much contact with my daughter's family after my separation, she was kind enough to invite us and I was grateful, because I knew Amanda would have a great time.
El día del cumpleaños compré el regalito de Ravi en una tienda que queda en frente al salón de fiesta donde fue la celebración. Le compré un conjuntico de ropa lindo, al que no le saqué foto, porque llegamos corriendo al cumpleaños jajajajaja. Toda la semana estuve postergando la compra del regalo y terminé haciéndolo a última hora.
El cumpleaños fue en un salón de fiestas para niños de aquí de la ciudad donde vivimos. La decoración era de “Fazendinha” la traducción de Haciendita en portugués, estaba linda.
On the day of the birthday I bought Ravi's present in a shop in front of the party hall where the celebration was held. I bought him a cute outfit, but I didn't take a picture of it, because we rushed to the birthday party hahahahahaha. All week I kept putting off buying the present and I ended up doing it at the last minute.
The birthday was at a children's party hall here in the city where we live. The decoration was from "Fazendinha" the translation of Haciendita in Portuguese, it was cute.
En el local tienen una piscina de bolitas y un trampolín grande para que los niños jueguen. Fueron invitadas pocas personas, me imagino que los más allegados a la familia.
Aquí los cumpleaños de niños consisten en reunir a las personas, tomarse fotos, comer pasapalos y ya. En un punto cantan el cumpleaños y después de eso comienzan a comer los dulces que acompañan la torta.
They have a ball pool and a big trampoline for the children to play on. Few people were invited, I imagine only those closest to the family.
Here, children's birthdays consist of gathering people together, taking photos, eating snacks and that's it. At one point they sing the birthday song and after that they start eating the sweets that go with the cake.
Me parece una diferencia cultural con respecto a Venezuela. Primero que no utilizan piñatas, en ninguno he visto y tampoco las venden como allá. De las fiestas de niño de Venezuela recuerdo que siempre hacían rifas y competencias donde los niños se ganaban algún premio. Esto animaba mucho las fiestas porque los niños se divertían bastante con esos momentos.
En esta fiesta había pocos niños, igual Amanda jugó bastante. Fue a la piscina de bolitas, que es un lugar donde le gusta estar y también saltó bastante en el trampolín.
It seems to me to be a cultural difference with respect to Venezuela. First of all, they don't use piñatas, I haven't seen them in any of them and they don't sell them like they do there. I remember from the children's parties in Venezuela that they always had raffles and competitions where the children won prizes. This livened up the parties a lot because the children had a lot of fun at those moments.
There were few children at this party, but Amanda still played a lot. She went to the ball pool, which is a place where she likes to be, and she also jumped a lot on the trampoline.
Aquí tiene como costumbre dar un recuerdito de la fiesta, en esta dieron un potecito para hacer burbujas de jabón, a mi hija le gustó mucho. Comenzó a jugar por todas partes haciendo burbujas y encontró al cumpleañero para hacerle compañía. Yo aproveché para tomarle unas cuantas fotos a ellos.
Here it is customary to give a little souvenir of the party, in this one they gave a little pot to make soap bubbles, my daughter liked it very much. She started playing all over the place blowing bubbles and found the birthday boy to keep her company. I took the opportunity to take a few photos of them.
Después que cantamos el cumpleaños comencé ver movimiento de personas retirándose de la fiesta y decidí que nos fueramos también. La mamá del cumpleañero nos dijo para quedarnos un poco más y nos quedamos unos 15 minutos más mientras Amanda aprovechaba un poco más el trampolín.
Fue un momento diferente para nosotras, porque aquí no conocemos mucha gente y ese fue el segundo cumpleaños al que nos invitaron el año pasado. Me gusta que Amanda comparta con otros niños, a ella le gusta jugar bastante y como siempre estamos las dos solas por lo general tiene que estar jugando solita. Con esto les termino mi post de hoy y me despido hasta el próximo.
After we sang the birthday song I started to see people leaving the party and decided that we should leave too. The birthday boy's mum told us to stay a bit longer and we stayed for another 15 minutes while Amanda took advantage of the trampoline a bit more.
It was a different moment for us, because we don't know many people here and that was the second birthday we were invited to last year. I like Amanda to share with other children, she likes to play a lot and as it is always just the two of us she usually has to play on her own.
