Sublime Sunday with Baby Sparrow's Day Out on first flight to learn flying!

It was a cute, little and sweet surprise that I came across this Sublime Sunday afternoon. A cute little and scared baby sparrow came flying in the backyard, trying and practising flying. It was indeed the most amazing and wonderful surprise.

While I was busy and occupied in couple of things, I heard chirping on the baby sparrow and it grew constantly, seemed to be coming from the near vicinity.

I ignored it for a while and kept on working but the chirping sound seemed pretty constant and different. I wasn't aware that a baby sparrow needed my immediate attention.

However, after couple of minutes and that chirping, I finally decided to explore and find out the real reason behind it.

The sparrows somewhere near must have their nest where this baby hatched and gradually grew and now ready to learn how to spread wings and fly.

We have couple of big trees in the observatory and some open area with some plantations and muddy area

Name: House Sparrow (baby) female
Sceintific Name: Passer domesticus

Nevertheless, the weather was pretty bad that day, in the morning it was dust-storm accompanied by rain and hence it seemed to be perfect place to hide. The baby probably knew these hiding tactics as inherited from its parents.

At first, I couldn't recognize but as I went near and near, I saw this cute baby sparrow pretending to be overly smart and trying to dodge me by randomly flying and running here and there.

1.jpeg

See the miracle of Mother Nature that the birdie knew to hide and run away from me for it's own safety but it hardly knew my subtle intentions of curiously observing it and possibly protecting it from any other predator nearby wanting to grab it and make the birdie it's food.

c.jpegd.jpeg

To my utmost surprise, I kept on wondering that, If the baby knew as to how camouflage itself in the muddy area with almost similar resemblance to its own colour and its feathers just so perfectly merging with the muddy background. I wonder!!! But to me it seemed just the right place and reason to hide or rest and relax for a while to dodge almost everyone, has Mother nature really given them that level of intelligence and wisdom to practice such methods. Its indeed an interesting topic that I would love to explore in the near future.

3.jpeg

I was little concerned about it's presence and it's parents looking for it, as to where did it fly to for the want for learning to fly.

f.jpegw.jpeg

My other immediate fear was if there is any other predator like cat nearby hence I was worried. But I knew that was no solution. It's a bird and it has to fly by all means no other option available in the list.

4.jpeg

Being a baby it must have been hungry and exhausted, but was do I feed and how, there were several questions cropping up in my mind.

g.jpegh.jpeg

However, in the meantime I took my smartphone and took couple of random captures of its movement in the backyard, here and there.

6.jpeg

You will see couple of sequential captures showing its movement here and there and I calmly chased for these captures totally without scaring the baby sparrow.

i.jpegj.jpeg

Please note no harm was caused at all to the baby sparrow while taking these captures. Just felt like saying this, therefore did. All the care was duly taken.

k.jpegl.jpeg

It evidently seemed that the baby sparrow knew that it was being supervised by me therefore it was literally behaving in the most nicest and cutest manner.

m.jpegn.jpeg

Quite interestingly, though I couldn't capture them, but it's parents also knew that we baby was enjoying my company and both of them were constantly chirping, as to telling the baby not to waste time, sitting/hiding/resting there and rather focus on it's flying skills for better survival in this struggle for existence. Though the baby acted pretty laidback and preferred relaxing before taking the next flight for learning and improving it's flying skills. Such is life

o.jpegp.jpeg

Ok! I also made two videos of its dynamic and continuous chirping and movement, hope you will love them. I thoroughly enjoyed making these videos. They are a wonderful remembrance of this cute, tiny, little birdie that came for the want of learning and spent few very special moments in my surreal company before flying to other destination as instructed and guided by it's parents.

q.jpegr.jpeg

I studied the traits of sparrow only to find out that it was female baby sparrow from the external appearance and it's characteristics.

s.jpegt.jpeg

I also typically noticed it's gentle, tender, soft and partly twisted anisodactyl feet that will grow over a period of time for them to function properly and hold tree branches, stems and other areas were it would like to sit for few seconds before flying to other destination. These sparrows are very chirpy and naughty.

The Baby Sparrow was quite intrigued seeing me and had mixed feelings/expressions of observing me and probably adapting to my presence there and as i was slowly and gradually following the baby to see and check its well-being, it was possibly getting little comfortable about me being there.

u.jpegv.jpeg

Despite the fact, the mission to hide and explore was constant, the baby was quite interrogative about the area where it was partly walking and randomly taking short flights to move here and there. I was obviously very interesting aspect to watch, observe and witness, right in-front of my eyes. I cannot say, how joyful it was to watch the whole activity of the baby sparrow. There can be nothing more exciting to witness this event that doesn't happen very frequently and is absolutely a rare event to witness in the most fascinating manner.

e.jpeg5.jpeg

I was planning and preparing to feed the baby but it flew to some other area nearby it nest.

Though the baby sparrow flew away to some undisclosed destination and would never ever return to see me and say that it was definitely an interesting moment that we both had spent together, I do still have its photos, pictures and my these wonderful captures, as taken by me out of sheer excitement and fascination.

Enjoy watching the various wonderful moments of the baby Sparrow!

Hope you liked the captures and enjoyed watching them.

Thank you,

That’s a cute little fellow, it’s definitely nesting season we have chicks in our house roof eaves and so does next door - the parents are always out on the lawn hunting worms and bugs to feed the little ones - which are very noisy

Absolutely cute, indeed. :)

I mean, I was literally chasing and carefully following the baby, to see it protected, just like crazy, totally forgetting that they belong to the skies and flying is their inbuilt trait.

Thank you @c0ff33a for stopping by.

Best Regards! :)
