My passion for Philately and Vintage Stamp Collection!

All these years I kept on thinking that nobody posts anything about stamps, vintage stamps and stamp collections and hence I was little hesitant to come up about it or something related to it. I surely was...!!!

A Little Introduction to My Collection:

I was a young boy, when my dad handed over a box to me, stating that there are several old stamps (probably vintage) in it and if I would like to pursue this wonderful hobby, in the near future.

Time passed by...

Years passed by and I possibly added couple of stamps to them and increased the number, however, I could never analyse the real worth of my collection and time just passed by.

A Lucky One!

Honestly saying, I always wondered, If I have some extremely rare, vintage and that one very special stamp in my collection, that is absolutely worth for being truly precious and can bring fortune. Perhaps, I was way too hesitant and reluctant to pursue this passion on any of the international platforms, the other reason being little knowledge in this field of philately.

I mean I never tried that hard or that serious to make it lucrative hobby, possibly.

Decades passed!

Decades passed and the whole collection of stamps that I had kept in a stamps album was a sort of lost story. Such an irony. But sometimes, when there would be any discussion with in the family or near and dear ones and friends, my stamp collection would often come to play its role to depict the precious stamp collection that I have in my possession. LOL ! :)

Awakening

Its only very recently, I suddenly came across a post by @qwerrie posted a month ago that I literally realised that there are other hiveians also pursuing this passionate hobby.

The Impact

Just see the impact of one post that made me write all this and making an effort to make this post. For years and years I just used to sit and see and love my wonderful collection and then eventually put it back in the box and close it, hide it in the cupboard.

An Open Question

I an curious to ask all of my hiveians that, if anyone knows, please advise/help/guide me on the following:
a) Which group and/or community will be best suitable to share such posts on stamps, stamp collections and vintage stamp collection etc
b) Are there more hiveians beisides me... @amitsharma & @qwerrie who are pursuing this passion and posting here on Hive, in any particular communities. So far I just felt like following the footsteps.

I will be utterly glad

As I said, I will be extremely glad to get any and every guidance from all dear hiveians on this subject/topic.

I will try to individually capture the images of these stamps, in Close ups and share in the future posts, if need be and there are several other, rather plenty of more vintage stamps from world over to be shared gradually and see the reaction from my lovely hiveians.

Quite interestingly, the times have changed and in this digital era where emails, SMS, MMS and other mediums have taken over, letters and postcards, the relevance of stamps has significantly reduced to important communications sent via Post/Mail. Rest everything has gone digital.

I researched a lot about them, but then most of these stamps are available and seen on ebay and plenty of such other platforms where people sell them on the basis of its condition and market value and I really need to learn and understand all that as soon as possible.
