Preserving the best of the past
Oh, friends, time flies, right? And with it, one starts thinking about a thousand things... How we're changing, who we are now. If you ask me how I see myself, considering that people love to label things, I'd say I'm not a conservative, at least not as it's sometimes understood.
I have very clear faith in the values of always, that never go out of style. I remember my old man a lot, always with his wise words: "Don't spend money you haven't earned yet"—how true, huh! And my mom, phew! What can I say... her legacy that resonates with me: "Study, son, that will be the legacy I'll leave you..." These are the little things I try to pass on to my Matthew; I hope they serve as a compass in life.
But don't get me wrong, eh! I'm not one of those people who keeps everything as if the house were a museum, not at all! Hehe. I'm more drawn to the new vibe, innovation, keeping up with technology and what's coming next. I think you can cherish the good things from the past, those firm principles, but without getting stuck. Use them as a springboard to leap into the future with gusto. It's a balance, don't you think? Grasping the good things from before, adding the new things that come along.
Come and participate, there's still time. You can find all the information daily in the #Freewritehouse Community. Specifically, today's prompt post:
