The Battle of the Century in the Bedroom
What I see beyond the image

Taken from the initiative, courtesy of Pixabay
In the image, I see a young man, a boxer. He's shirtless, showing off a well-defined, muscular physique, and stands against a completely black background, which draws all the attention to him. He's wearing bright red boxing gloves, which contrast with the darkness of the surroundings.
His hands are raised, covering part of his face in what appears to be a classic guard-defense position, as if he's ready to defend himself or preparing for a fight. However, as we all know, interpretations can change. The way he tilts his head and the shadow hiding his eyes could also suggest something else. Perhaps it's not a fighting pose, but a gesture of distress, as if his head is hurting badly or he's just received some very serious news and is trying to process it. The image plays with that ambiguity between strength and vulnerability.
What the Image Makes Me Feel
When I see this image, and think about boxing in general, I'm not really enthusiastic about it. I was never into fighting, not even as a kid, so this world has always seemed a bit alien and even brutal to me. The idea of seeing two people, like two "roosters in a ring," hitting each other for sport has never seemed a pleasant sight to me.
More than admiration for strength, the image provokes a feeling of unease in me. I think about the punishment the body takes, the pain that must be behind every blow, for both the one giving it and the one receiving it. It gives me a feeling of tension and suppressed violence that, honestly, I don't enjoy.
The Anecdote Behind It All
This photo brings to mind a very curious family anecdote involving my parents, who, unlike me, were huge boxing fans. I remember my mom telling us that one night she stayed up watching her favorite boxer's fight. The broadcast must have been so exciting that it stuck in her mind.
That same night, already asleep, she dreamed she was the one in the ring. The funny thing is, she wasn't fighting a professional boxer, but a neighbor who was apparently quite annoying! My father had to wake her up because, in the middle of her dream, she was throwing punches in the air and, from the sheer tension, she was biting her lower lip hard and it was bleeding.
The next day, my mom woke up not only exhausted, as if she had actually fought, but with her lip marked by her own teeth. Proof of how her passion for boxing had infiltrated even her dreams.

WOW ... your mother really loved the sport to the point that it manifested in her body! That's some dedication, although the outcome was not exactly favorable!
I think she somatized the problem with her neighbor more than the sport, ha ha ha.
I thought so too, but I was being respectful to your parents!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This story really touched me. I like how you shared your thoughts in a simple and real way. The part about being strong outside but soft inside felt deep. I also smiled at the boxing story. It shows that even tough people can have a kind and gentle side
Regarding this sport, I say the same as you, I DON'T like it, but like everything in life it's a matter of choice and it's respectable.
I think some people are too fond of it, so to speak. For example, soccer fans even kill each other for their teams, and to think that some bets are bought. This has been proven, that's why I say it.So I'll just say that life itself is a challenge that many of us are ready to take on.
