When You Fall Seven? Get Up Eight times Better & Stronger.

Everyone has made plans to be a better version of themselves, as that is the beauty that comes with a new year. A second chance maybe.

I am not indifferent as well, as at the end of last year, I paused for a moment to reflect on my blessings, lessons, and goals and realized my strengths, my weaknesses, and how I hope to improve my life.

If there's anything I admire so much, it's my zeal to always strive to be better than I was yesterday, with no competition from anyone, because I know that everyone has their timeline.

Just yesterday, I drafted out so many goals I hope to achieve in the first half and the last half of the year.

Some of these goals include:
Hive goals, financial goals, personality goals, business goals, spiritual goals, health goals, and family goals.

These goals were classified into various categories to make it easier for me to achieve them.

We all wish better for ourselves, which is why we made the goals in the first place. However, it is important to note that we are only humans, and we have little or no control over some circumstances and situations.

I like to think of the pros and cons of a situation, not because I am a pessimist but because I know how uncertain life can be. Even the air we breathe is not certain until the next minute, so my first motto in life is to make every second count; tomorrow is not promised at all.

Unforeseen occurrences might befall us, either healthwise or otherwise, which might make it hard to reach our set goals before the first half of the year. If such an occurrence ever occurs, what will I do?

If my goals and plans are not working in the first half of the year, I will review what's working and what's not. This can only be done if I have a goal tracker to track my progress for the first half and ask myself these important questions;

Are the goals SMART? (Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely),Are they within reach or too ambiguous?

The next thing I will do is set my priorities right. Sometimes the reason we are not reaching our goals is a result of misplaced priorities. Setting my priorities right also means identifying my challenges and what's holding me back from reaching that goal, and then learning the art of being flexible.

As the years go by, I have learned to be flexible and take one day at a time. I am flexible in that I learn from my setbacks and find easy strategies to meet my goals for the remaining half of the year. It's of no use to beat myself up, as that could only drain me, make me feel like a failure, and, in turn, leave me depressed, however, it's not the time to fold my arms and justify my effort but it's time to get up and go harder!!

Failing is a major part of growth, as when one fails, it redirects your path and helps keep your head up only when one is determined to try again. I know this because I have failed on different occasions and ended up winning at the end because of my drive for success. Trying again helps you explore and exert yourself beyond your imagination.

One strategy I can use is setting a more specific goal or objective rather than waiting for a result at the end of the year. I can make it a daily or weekly goal as it is more realistic and easier to achieve, or even change the goal entirely.

Every time I wake up, I will set specific goals to smash; this means I will have a goal or to-do list and a great schedule, which makes me a lot more focused.

Even after reviewing my goals and identifying setbacks, if it looks like it's beyond my power, I will change my mindset, which is being positive, and open-minded to trying new approaches and learning to adapt to change to unforeseen circumstances beyond my power because change is the only thing constant in life. I will also avoid comparing myself to the other person because circumstances differ and comparison is a killer of joy and put to the heart the slow and steady wins the race.

I believe that it's not how far one has come but how well, and this will give me the courage not to give up on myself, no matter how hard it seems. I believe the one who fell and got back up is much stronger than the one who never fell, so resilience is for me to keep trying a million times until I get it right.

Self-affirmation is not out of place; it goes a long way to look myself in the mirror eye-to-eye and tell myself that I am capable of anything if I am ready to put in all the work, even though it means disciplining myself just to achieve what's right in front of me. I sure would until I win. Either I go hard or I die trying, but giving up is not an option for me because my desire to be stronger and better is much greater than stopping halfway!

Unforseen circumstances are meant to occur because they are needed for us to grow. And, you've stated what your goals are and how you'll strive to have them achieved.

I wish you all luck with them.

Some like to only look at the bright side of things. Once you tell them to think of what will happen if an unfavorable result occurs, they see you as a pessimistic person. However, I like how you mentioned that these things has to be done because we all know the uncertainties surrounding our life.

You mentioned "Try Again" as one of the approach you take when things are not working out. That's something that many people have heard a couple of times in their life, but only few people really go back to try again. Some do it haphazardly. However, when we give things our best, it becomes a lot easier to smash our goals.

Well Done, Amie. Thanks so much for joining this edition of our challenge.

And I love this about you dear

We shouldn't be in a competition with anyone. The idea of goal setting should be for self competition, let me borrow that word 🤗

Wow, I love how you set out plans to tackle your unfulfilled goals halfway through the year... uncertainties might set in but we gat to rise up and find out what we can do better to meet up with our goals
Awesome entry

Unforseen situations happens a lot of time and this is why when planning our goals, we need to consider both the pro and cons of it in order to get us prepared for whatever we happen and find ways to solve them immediately instead of giving up. I love your approach as to when your goals aren't meeting the desired result.

One of the reasons why people find it difficult to achieve their goals is because of their rigid approach towards achieving what they have planned. Achieving a goal is not a do or die affair, if something is not working out we should be flexible enough to change the narrative.

A man without goal is a man without a purpose of living. I like the way you articulate your goals. As the year progresses, it is important to assess the journey and realize where amendment is needed each time. I learn one or two things.

Self-affirmation is really hard when you know that the positive things you tell to yourself are not even sincere and when you fall into the despair, you go back being mean to yourself because it is the only thing you can do since you can't really afford to hate anybody because you feel like it's actually your fault.
