Kindness: A Beacon Of Light In A Darkened World.
In a me-first world, kindness has suddenly become the rarest commodity, which makes it very hard to cope in this selfish world.
Tracing the root of humanity, I've come to realize that the world needs more kindness, as kindness undoubtedly acts as a beacon of light that illuminates the dark, loveless, chaotic, and selfish world. Known for its simplicity, kindness truly doesn't cost a dime.
If you ask what kindness means to me, I'll tell you that kindness means more than putting up a show of being nice, generous, or tolerant; it is giving without expecting anything in return; it's looking for a simple way to put a smile on the other person's face through our deeds, words, or actions. It lies in the motive of doing those things, not just to be seen, appreciated, respected, or acknowledged, but because it is genuine.
The beautiful part about kindness is that it's got nothing to do with our age, as everyone can show kindness one way or another.
It could be just lending a shoulder for someone else to lean on, a smile to spark up one's day, a listening ear for someone to pour out their heart, a free compliment, choosing the right words, being selfless, a little act of consideration, the ability to let go of resentment, looking for ways to create a peaceful atmosphere for everyone around you, looking for ways to help the other person grow, sharing ideas, holding the door for a stranger, saying "thank you," apologizing when you're wrong, and giving alms. Do they cost a dime?
It's so amazing to know that the best things in life are free of charge; kindness is one of them, an act that makes the world go round and makes society thrive.
Kindness is the positive aura you bring to the table and is not limited to people of your social status, clique, or race; it is a profound act that goes beyond human culture, race, economic status, or social status; it is giving without reserve, without expectation, without hypocrisy, and barriers.
Kindness is showing compassion to the core and being empathetic, and it should be a lifestyle.
In this world that's so hard to survive, kindness to me means giving the dying soul a reason to live again, a tiny rope of hope to wake up and do life regardless. Kindness can be likened to a tree planted by the riverside, how it blooms from the positivity of its environment.
Imagine being so harsh on someone who's already going through a lot that they might just resort to giving up and not even trying anymore. Kindness is being intentional with our every action because we do not know the silent battle the other person is fighting.
Kindness to me means breaking any barrier that will not foster communication and genuine generosity; it means not backstabbing a friend; it means not forgetting the good deeds of a person because of just one mistake.
Kindness to me means not looking down on the less privileged and needy. It means not overstepping boundaries and taking friendships for granted; kindness means showing respect regardless of who the other person is.
Kindness is not being judgmental over someone's action, not being biased, showing understanding, and not jumping to conclusions without finding out why a person did what they did.
Kindness means not making a mockery of a person's predicament; it means fostering love, letting the other person flourish, and not being manipulative. Kindness is not competing with the other person, but the desire to be a better version of yourself every day.
It means being nice to animals as well and not being cruel towards them, it's the little things in our every day that show how kind we are.
I could go on and on as to what kindness means, but then kindness means different things to different people; however, the matter concludes that kindness lies in the motive of our every action and the intentionality to make a person happy, feel loved, genuinely appreciated and leaving people better than you found them.
If we all can be kind every day, the world will be a better place to live in.

Yeah, people don’t concern about that much anymore like they want to gain something by being kind for show off otherwise they really don’t care. But being kind does not cost money.
That's right, thank you for stopping.
I totally agree with you on what kindness is and also what it is not. Kindness costs so little yet it is withheld by many for no reason.
This is a lovely post to self reflect on and possibly ask deep questions like
"Am I portraying kindness?"
"Am I doing enough?"
Thank you for sharing
I am glad this post stirred you to introspection, thank you for visiting.
It was worth it plus the pleasure is mine.
Really isn't enough of that in this world and it's often forgotten with the selfishness we all fall prey to.
It's a sad people find it hard to show kindness, however, if it's in our possession we should give it out freely for it makes the world a better place. Thanks for coming around.
