While we were having one of our random conversation,Danny my cousin who had come to visit me for over a week asked me.. "What can you learn from children?" I immediately recall an image I once saw where kids were open-minded and curious at the same.
"Never letting my inner child die." I smiled as I gave my response.
With a surprised gesture, he asked "why?"
Without batting an eyelid I began to express what I feel. "The heart of a child is so clean that they never nurture evil. They are so curious that they want to learn every time. They ask endless question and often explore on their own."
If we never let our inner child die. We can learn to forgive, tolerate, appreciate the simple things and just take one day at a time.
A child is only concerned about what to eat, how to play, to smile, learn and just live. If we can imitate them, we would be happier.
That image shows children being curious about a certain egg in a basket. They must have wondered why the color is different from others and why it's so big. Amidst the chaos in the world, they leave their worries aside and ensure to enjoy the simple things of life like companionship and discovery.
They live in the moment and that's actually the essence of life. Feel each moment and make the most out of it. Time lost can never be regained.
"Why is the sky blue?" This is one of the few questions a child innocently asks and that because their heart is always open to learning.
If my inner child is alive, I would explore and learn from nature and people around me. I would be humble enough to listen to people who are more experienced than I am.
I'd be truly happy, enjoy the companion of others and just live this life to the fullest.
Danny smiled after I explained what the image I saw evoked in me.. "Oh wow! What a great perspective that is. So refreshing to listen to!"
"Yes.. So Danny are you ready to keep your inner child alive?" With a beaming smile I asked.
"Of course yes.. We can start by telling tales of ancient times under the moonlight tonight. I wanna start finding joy in the simple things of life too"
"Deal! " We agreed to start living than merely existing.

Sure, the heart of a kid is open, and has a tendency to absorb almost every information with little or no question.
Yeah right.
Exactly, we have to live in the moment, because life is so ephemeral... I love the vision of your story.
I'm glad you do. Thank you
being curious is learning
True.
I wonder what you mean by a child. Re they innocent? At what age they no longer forget and forgive? Two years old, six or?
