Learning is a continuous process and it takes someone humble to learn, unlearn and relearn.

The beautiful thing about learning is how it exposes you to a lot of things, makes you even more confident and opens doors to many opportunities.

This week has been more of fashion illustration in school, from the sketch, to the body movement, to painting it as a 2D and now turning our 2D croqui to 3D.

It's quite technical, but paying more than the usual attention has made it easier than it should be.

This part of 3D illustration is even the sweetest as you get to play with colors and think outside the box. Creativity makes everything very fun and here's how we did ours.

Our tutor always ensure to do one for everyone to see in the class before asking each of us to do ours personally.

We used an African print, fabric gum, cardboard, tracing well, acrylic paint, brush, tissue paper, and water.

Everything that's makes human beautiful, must also be done on the croqui. Like giving it a bust and a figure eight. The head gear too and lipstick enhanced the beauty of the croqui.

It took me courage to mix the acrylic paint to get the right skin tone for this croqui when it got to my turn.

At first, I was skeptical and wanted to skip that part, but something in me encouraged me to try even though I was unsure of the result.

After I did, I loved everything about it.

As for the mosaic, it was another struggle to draw an imaginary silhouette, but I was able to, casting the fear of not getting it right aside.

It's also an image that requires patience and carefulness. I also used the African print, fabric gum and other accessories to beautify it.

We finally learned how to paint our fabric using three method. Stehcil, free hand and stamp method.

I think the easiest method of all three is the stamp method, it just requires painting a form or an object and placing it gently on your fabric.

Although all of these have been so stressful on me, each time I think about the many new skills I have acquired, I tend to forget about the stress and focus on the goal which is, to be a certified and professional designer who can confidently do anything when it comes to fabric, textile and designing.

No knowledge is a waste and so I try my best to pay attention in class avoiding any form of distraction. Although, I've been absent in some ways on the media, I know all of these are for my good and when I'm fully back, I have a lot to give back to the society at large, my community and my client.

Here's a reminder that what ever one has set his or her heart to do, they should do it well because time lost or opportunity lost can never be regained. It's better not to embark on a journey of upgrade if one is not determined to stay focused or is too proud to learn something new and exciting.

Along the way you'll fail, you'll get tired, you might feel uncertain, feel uneasy, endure some pain, but the last thing that should come upon your mind is to give up. Always trust the process, if you fail, be determined to get the next one right and try again.

I know how many times I've lamented behind the scene of all these beautiful project you see. Some days I fail woefully at my first attempt but I still try again until i get it right. Some days I come back home too tired and wasted. Other days I go to bed very late and hungry. All of these are the price I'm paying, why? Nothing good comes easily.

Be patient at every thing and always find opportunity to hone whatever skill you have. You never may know where it may take you to in life and you never know who is watching and getting inspired by your consistency, resilience, creativity and growth.

Images used belong to me.
