I was too excited to teach my first student after fashion school.

Now I believe that there's indeed time for everything. Phases only need patience.

The truth is, whatever moment you are in, make good use of it, enjoy it because once it's gone, you're on the next level.

Today started off on a very good note. I met with a new lady who wanted me to school her on pattern drafting and garment construction.

I was not nervous and I guess because I knew my onions. I was way too excited to dish out all I've learned while I was in school.

I've dreamt of this day, when I can finally transfer what I've known for so long to the next person.

There's an adage I love so much which says "knowledge is power only when it is shared". That's true because teaching or sharing knowledge helps you retain what you know and at the same time it help others broaden their knowledge.

In today's class, I taught my student hip padding. After introducing the topic to her, I broke it down by bits and in time, she began grabbing the essence of today's topic.

I even persuaded her to take down notes, even when she felt like she understood it all.

The essence of writing was for her to have a future reference. As we progress to other topic, she might begin to forget the previous one, so it's of importance to take down some note.

The fabric we worked with today was called "crepe".

I taught her how to construct a hip pad shaper. How to plot the bum lift and how to cinch the waist.

She watched me sew it from start to finish, while sewing I ensured she was following up, as I asked her a few questions to see if she was catching up.

At some point, I noticed she was tired. I gave her a little time to stretch her legs and munch on her snacks. She came back energizee and ready to complete the day's task.

After we completed the task, I gave her an assignment to draft a basic body shaper, construct the bun lifter and actually sew it.

I believe it wouldn't be a huge task for her, as we've both done it in class today.

I am really anticipating what her assignment will look like. By Wednesday, I'll get to see what my student comes up with.

After she left, I went back to client's project. I'm currently making some many two pieces for one of my client.

It's called a lapel vintage shirt and Palazzo pant. It's indeed a very productive but long day.

I enjoy working with my airpods, as I am lover of good music. They hell me stay focused amidst the distraction. There's this joy that comes with titling your head while sewing hehe.

I'll share the final outcome of one of the vintage shirt when I'm done sewing it.

I love the vintage style. It's great that you have this student, who, by the way, seems dedicated to what you teach her. Congratulations!
