Sometimes, we do things for different reason.
I love gardening but some plants in my garden were planted to mark a season or preserve memories.
I have about two of them, but I feel inclined to talk about one.
The first pet I ever known and loved died some time in 2020. That was the first time I experienced losing a pet and it felt like I lost a friend.
She was more like a close buddy. She was such a whole vibe and made my house so blissful.
I recall that morning how she atruugled to survive and ended up falling on my knees. She had Parvovirus and the vet said it was too late to be treated because it has spread into her blood stream.
Honestly it hurt so badly that there was nothing I could to save her life, just hopes and wishes.
When she died, we planted a tree on her grave side just to remember the spot she was buried. My siblings and I ensured we have her a biffitng burial. It was weird to onlookers, but if only they knew that she wasn't just a pet. She was a part of the family. We grew so fond of her and in fact she was the baby of the house.
After the burial, I nurtured the plant so much because it was more than a plant, it was a form of preserving the memories I shared with my first pet.
The plant grew so big and fresh, why not? It had enough manure to grow and bloom. The carcass of my dog was a good manure for it.
Whenever I set my eyes on that plant, it took me down memory lane. I recall how beautiful my pet was.
She was so fun to be with and very dramatic. I don't think I've been able to get a replacement of her.
Whenever I set my eyes on the plant, I recall the day she fell on my knees and took her last breath.
Unfortunately, I had to move away from that house because of work in 2022 , but I'm sure if I go back today, that tree would have grown so big and only I and a few people recall the story behind the tree.
I feel so attached to that particular tree because of the circumstances surrounding it and because it wouldn't have been on that particular spot if not to mark my dog's death.
Images used belong to me.
