Hello Music lovers..

AirBrush_20240723220419.jpg

It's another Tuesday which means it's time to share some music here on my blog, something I love to do.

I have always imagined life without music, very boring it will be, don't you think so? Many of us might even lose the motivation on some things like housechores, gym, meditation and the list goes on, as music is the food to the soul and music makes life wonderful.

A lot of times I've been asked by people, "Do you have a favorite genre of music?" , well my answer always goes thus, I enjoy RnB more and that's because while growing up, I heard more of it in my household, my dad and big sister were fans of RnB songs and it had a great impact on me.

The kind of songs we usually listen to in our household were songs from great legends like, westlife, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Phil Collins, Sia , John Legend and when it came to African music, I enjoyed listening to Angelique Kidjo, Brenda Fassie, Asa, Tuface and the likes.

Even though I enjoy listening to RnB more, that doesn't stop me from listening to any other genre, so long as it is melodious and meaningful, yeah then I will slam in the music.

I also think my mood determines the kind of song I listen to, some days I just want to dance and vibe, which means I'll listen to hip hop and highlife and the days I just want to meditate, I listen to very slow music which has a very meaningful lyrics.

So for the Three Tune Tuesday, I will share three songs that are on my favorite list, simply because these artists are legends and they have a very unique style of singing.

Asa - Bibanke

Asa is a very unique artist whose music has stood the test of time, her voice very sweet and her music so soothing, sharing great lyrics which has the power to touch the deepest part of one's heart.

Her choice of the Yoruba dialect in her music made her song so creative and even more appealing, more to that I love how she plays the guitar effortlessly.

Although she's currently based in Paris, her song tells about the beautiful culture of the Nigerians and sometimes the economic state, songs like "jailer," "Fire on the mountain" And "Eyo".

Angelique Kidjo- Agolo

Angelique Kidjo's music is an example of good songs never go out of style, even though her songs are now old, they are still fine as an old wine.

Some of her songs also includes "Wombolombo," "Afrika" "Babalao" and a whole lot of good music.

Funny as it may sound, one of Asa's mentor is also Angelique Kidjo which makes it a perfect choice for the #ttt initiated by @ablaze

Tuface - Dance In The Rain

How can I talk about my favorite African genre without mentioning the legend himself also known as Tubaba.

Tuface is one artist I respect a lot, who doesn't sing about vain things and promote immorality through his music.

Most of his songs are very meaningful, if you listen carefully to his song, you'll hear how he advices people to live in the moment and keep their worry at bay and he is also good at preaching love through his music.
