NONFICTION PROMPT: THE INTER-HOUSE SPORT
I literally dragged myself out of my bed on that Saturday morning and make breakfast for my children who were already all dressed up for the big event. My next door neighbor offered to drive us to the event in her new jeep and i was beyond relieved. Her son was in the same school with my daughters and so she was also going for the event.
It was all fun with lots of activites and competitions like football, long jump, swimming, hockey, skipping, high jump, relay laces etc.
My neighbor left with her son thirty minutes after we got there because she got an urgent call. I started looking out for someone that can give me and my girls a ride home. Luckily i saw my good friend Chioma but when i was ready to leave she wasn't.
In all of my outdoor experiences i have never stayed till the end. I am actually among the impatient groups that signs out before the end of the activities. But i was quiet unfortunate to be at the mercy of my friend who belonged to the stay till the end of the activities group.
What are you even rushing home to do? To do the same thing you have been doing everyday? Come on let's have some fun please.
She was quiet right, apart from taking a good rest, there is absolutely nothing that i am rushing home to do. Since i have no other choice i decided to stay back and it turned out to be the best decision for me that day.
Apart from the new friends that i made, i also get to participate in the parent's relay race and guess what our house took the first position. It was a very proud moment for me. Chioma and her other friends participated in the dancing competition and they did absolutely amazing.
It was a whole new experience for me staying from the beginning to the end of an outdoor activity. I came to realized that by leaving early one get to miss out on all the fun parts of the event. It's just like leaving a wedding after the bride walked down the aisle without staying to witness the exchange of marital vows or the reception. I remain grateful for the lesson that i learnt and it greatly influenced my attitude and behaviour towards not just outdoor activities but all events.

Being outdoors in nature is a great mood booster, and it was great that you socialised and participated in events. Great lesson learned from the experience.
Well done!
Thank you for sharing your story with us, don't forget to engage with other members of the community as well!
It was all fun and worth every hour I spent.
I love how you skillfully portrayed the protagonist's internal struggle and eventual decision to stay for the entire event.
Yes, it was a decision she had to take which turned out to be for her own good.
Outdoor activities are fun. I think that sometimes they even help us in so many ways, that's if we found the time and especially didn't lazy around. I'm glad your kids did you product.
Is so beautiful and colorful. Am glad to see how the inter- house sport went smoothly.good job.
It is indeed very beautiful. Thank you
The time is always the problem as we are all preoccupied with other stuffs that we thought are more important. Like my neighbor that have to leave barely thirty minutes after arriving.

Lovely event. There is a kind of joy that comes with such participation. Your friend made it possible in that regard.
Yes she did and she kept empathizing that on that. I owe her lol
Wow. Outdoor experiences do help one's mood. I am glad you stayed back to have fun.
I am glad to hear that you had fun even more at the end of the event. Good that you stayed back. Outdoor experience is always reliving and fun 😊
If you leave before the end of an event, there's no way you can tell the full story of the event. You can see how satisfied you were at the end of the event.
😁 I understand how you might have felt. Thank God you stayed and enjoyed yourself😁
Yea, i was glad that i did.
