EATING MORE FOR LESS VERSUS LESS FOR MORE .

What I find so intriguing about this topic is that you can approach it from different angles and perspective. In this contest I will be giving you expos especially those in Nigeria on where to get cheap food when you are low on cash and where to get expensive food when you are loaded thus have some extra cash to play round with.

What I am about to share is a life saver especially as the prices of foodstuffs are on the rise on daily basis. There is nothing like cheap food again because even the normal bukka where you can eat lots of food for less money are not selling below one thousand naira again. There is this popular place that I love to eat in the market and a plate of their food back then was 500 naira. Today that same food is now worth 1,000 naira. I don't blame them either because considering the hike in the prices of foodstuffs it was only normal that they revisit smd review their prices. Mind you this place is not a standard eatery but a bukka which is a local food joint where you have to sit on the bench to eat without fan or Ac.

Last week, I took my children to grab a quick lunch at chicken republic eatery. I went for their combo package and it was what I called the cheapest food you can ever get in Nigeria in this present Economy if you are eating out. Their combo consist of jellof rice,plantain, chicken and a bottle of coke. All these cost just 1200 naira. I was very happy that I can actually get much for less money compared to other fast food joints. The chicken alone is worth 1000 naira in other places. I ended up buying 4 combo packs for my small family. Unlike the bukka this place is a highly funished food joint with AC. I will say this is the cheapest food I have eaten since the present government took over power.

Now, let's take a look at the most expensive food. I went to mega chicken with my colleagues after a stressful day to have lunch. Getting there it was always bubbling with people. There is no time or day you will go to mega chicken and find less people there.

This particular eatery have sections for continental dishes, Africa dishes, local dishes and also Chinese food section. Mega chicken used to be very much affordable but right now it's far from being affordable as you have to pay 3 times of what it used to be before.

I ordered for mega yam which I call yamarita and turkey. They asked what I would love to eat my yamarita with and I replied egg sauce. The yamarita was two pieces and I was charged 2000 for both. Well I consoled myself after all yam is madly expensive. Then they said that the particular sauce that i ordered was 1500 naira and then the turkey was 2500 naira. Bottle water was 500 naira. Everything was totalling 6 thousand naira. It's not much if I was just giving myself a treat for I do spend more on pampering myself but it was wey above what i was expecting to pay for lunch in a work day. Imagine eating 6 thousand naira everyday for lunch, that ofcourse is outrageous and would render me broke.

Well, I didn't need anybody to tell me to stay very far away from mega chicken during the week days. I mean I can always go back there to give myself a treat but it's definitely not ideal for an everyday favourite lunch spot.

Atleast not in my present financial situation.
