Five Minute Freewrite: Put It In Reverse
Few months ago, Jenny remembered how she managed to escape something that would have consumed her being. It was a frantic effort of hers that saved the day.
It was in the thick of the rainy season that it all happened. Jenny was going to her farm for harvest. Her pineapples had all riped and she needed them sold so as to raise some cash for her children's school fees and other sundry levies.
She decided to go with her truck so as to make the carriage of the suckers easier for her. She went alone. As she was about to approach her farm she observed some group of boys who were busy harvesting her neighbour's farm. The thieves had even put up a barricade which Jenny would have ran into. She applied the brakes on her truck and put it in reverse almost immediately. The thieves who mounted about three of them as onlookers shouted as she made the tough detour.....they chased her and she ran as fast as she could and took another road.
Thereafter she alerted the local vigilante who swung into action and managed to round off the young thieves. Jenny gathered that they were even seven in number. They were later handed over to the police for prosecution.
