It was a high profile job and the management refused to advertise it. This conduct however raised serious concern among stakeholders who demanded to know why the management has refused to advertise it.
Following sustained efforts by few top shareholders the job was advertised and in a matter of days a lot of people applied for it. The secretary took time to receive and acknowledge them all.
The management set a deadline for submission of application. The favoured candidate hasn't appointed and submitted his application. The final day came and no more correspondence was accepted. One week after closure of application the anointed candidate showed up with his application. All his pleas for leniency was refused as the secretary told him point black that no more correspondence will be received.
Now having spend over one hour standing without the secretary budging he had to take his leave.
