Five Minute Freewrite: Funny Nightmare
It as a cold winter night. Diego had gone to bed much more earlier than he usually does. The weather was not really friendly on him or something like that. He was shivering and having a bit body pains.
While in bed he didn't waste time to dose off. Unlike him who usually stays longer in bed before catching some sleep, this night was different.
Diego found himself in a trace where he was supporting the opposition candidate in a general election. He addressed a large crowd, urging them to vote for the opposition candidate as the rightful person to lead the country.
Soon the election began and they all voted en masse for the opposition candidate to tht annoyance of the ruling party who saw their defeat coming.
Later, the results were announced and the opposition candidate won massively. There was a wild jubilation across the country. The ruling party and it's candidate could not stomach the defeat. They took to the streets in counter protests. Riots broke up. Shopping mall, buildings, cars and much more were set ablaze. It became terribly violent that the military had to step in.
All the opposition politicians including the President-elect were arrested. Max ran towards the border to flee but was also intercepted. He was thrown into the worst prison with common criminals.
The next five days, they were all brought out and arraigned for treason. Max was convicted and sentenced to death by a firing squad. At that point he woke up and was sweating profusely. He then realized that it was all but a dream. He sneezed profusely and concluded that this funny nightmare must be attributed to his malaria bout.
