No estoy embarazado, pero el refrigerador de mi casa me dio asco. Me di cuenta de toda la mugre que tenía, al ver en una tienda uno nuevo de paquete.

Es muy fácil acostumbrarse a lo malo cuando eres muy joven. Al acercarse a los 30, la vida coge otro color. La responsabilidad se convierte en tu amiga.

Invité a mi esposa a esta sucia aventura, para rescatar a mi refri de su penosa enfermedad. Estábamos cansados de caminar tanto en la mañana, pero más estábamos cansados de ver sufrir a nuestro equipo.

It's easy to get used to the bad stuff when you're very young. As you approach 30, life takes on a different color. Responsibility becomes your friend.

I invited my wife on this dirty adventure, to rescue my refri from her painful illness. We were tired of walking so much in the morning, but more tired of watching our refrigerator suffer.

Agarramos detergente, agua y cepillos de dientes. Utilizar otra sustancia química no nos pareció adecuado, por temor a dañar el material. ¿Estuve bien ahí?

Le dimos cepillo al refri como si estuviésemos rayando un quintal de yuca. ¡Qué agotador resultó ser esta parte de la misión! Esas son las consecuencias de tanto tiempo sin limpiar.

Después de quitar toda el agua y detergente, lo dejamos lo más seco posible, utilizando una camiseta que ya no uso. La sensación que queda después del paño es muy agradable.

We grabbed detergent, water and toothbrushes. Using any other chemical didn't seem right, for fear of damaging the material. Was I right there?

We brushed the fridge as if we were scratching a quintal of cassava. How exhausting this part of the mission turned out to be! Those are the consequences of so much time without cleaning.

After removing all the water and detergent, we left it as dry as possible, using a T-shirt that I no longer use. The feeling left after the cloth is very pleasant.

Claro que no todo es color de rosa. Quedaron algunas manchas imposibles de quitar. Por más esfuerzo que pusimos, me quedé insatisfecho.

Nos pusimos de acuerdo entonces en ser más sistemáticos en la limpieza general de los equipos electrodomésticos. Cómo no somos millonarios (aún), esta es una práctica que no puede evitar gastos inoportunos si se llega a romper el equipo.

El refrigerador también es el sitio donde guardamos alimentos. Para evitar enfermedades del tracto digestivo, es vital que se conserven en buen estado. No creo que la mugre y los alimentos inocuos sean vecinos que se lleven bien

The refrigerator is also the place where we store food. To avoid diseases of the digestive tract, it is vital that they are kept in good condition. I don't think that dirt and safe food are neighbors that get along well.
