La semana pasada la protagonista en mi casa fue mi esposa. Ella fue la encargada de recibir todos privilegios que en el hogar se ofrecen.

Casi 13 horas diarias de trabajo, por 5 días consecutivos. Salía antes de las 8 de la mañana(a veces antes de las 7 am) y volvía pasadas las 9 pm.

Solo tenía tiempo para cenar y luego caer en la cama para dormir. Las tareas hogareñas, entonces, cayeron sobre mí. De un 50-50 tuve que comerme con papas el 100%.

Cómo te puedes dar cuenta, esta segunda parte tendrá que ver con mi experiencia como ama de casa.

Last week the protagonist in my home was my wife. She was in charge of receiving all the privileges offered at home.

Almost 13 hours a day of work, for 5 consecutive days. She left before 8 am (sometimes before 7 am) and returned after 9 pm.

I only had time to have dinner and then fall into bed to sleep. Household chores, then, fell on me. From 50-50 I had to eat 100% of it with potatoes.

As you can see, this second part will have to do with my experience as a housewife.

El primer día fue el peor de todos. Salía de una guardia médica para respetar. No había pegado el ojo en toda la noche y mi prioridad en este tipo de situaciones es descansar en casa luego de un baño.

Las horas de sueño se fueron a la basura, al menos hasta la noche. No se trataba de un día común, sino que el momento, me exigía un esfuerzo decisivo.

Tuve que lavar, limpiar la casa(a fondo) cocinar, comprar comida y hacer todo tipo de diligencias. No tuve tiempo ni de interactuar en Hive.

Aquí les dejo un animado cubano que refleja de manera fiel mis movimientos aquel día tan cargado. ¡Que maravilla ese papá! Bueno, no soy papá, pero soy esposo, que es casi lo mismo.

The first day was the worst of all. I was coming out of my night shift at the hospital. I couldn't sleep a wink all night and my priority in this kind of situation is to rest at home after a bath.

The hours of sleep went down the drain, at least until the evening. It was not an ordinary day, because the moment demanded a decisive effort from me.

I had to wash, to clean the house (thoroughly) to cook, to buy food and run all sorts of errands. I didn't even have time to interact on Hive.

Here is a Cuban cartoon that faithfully reflects my movements on that busy day. What a wonderful dad! Well, I'm not a dad, but I am a husband, which is almost the same thing.

El día siguiente fue más suave, pero no fue más bonito. Me levantaba temprano para que mi “turrón de maní”pudiera salir sin atrasos. Adelanté para ella todo lo que pude.

La acompañé a la parada, y la despedí. Ya en casa me acostaba para de horas para seguir luego con la faena. Hay que tener en cuenta los horarios cuando contamos con electricidad.

Sin eso, no se puede cocinar, a menos que prendas carbón. Cosa que tuve que hacer muy poco, pues aproveché al máximo el tiempo con fluido eléctrico

El resto de los días fue más o menos el mismo ritmo. Por suerte, la mayoría de los días que duró el evento donde participó mi esposa coincidió con la mayoría de mis días de descanso.

The next day was smoother, but no prettier. I got up early so that my "peanut brittle" could leave without delays. I went as far ahead for her as I could.

I walked with her to the bus stop, and kissed her good bye. Once home, I went to bed for a few hours, then I to continued my chores. You have to take into account the schedules when you have electricity.

Without it, you can't cook, unless you have charcoal. Which I didn't use much, because I made the most of the time with electricity.

The rest of the days were more or less the same rhythm. Luckily, most of the days of the event where my wife participated coincided with most of my days off.

De otra manera, quizás hubiese sido catastrófico para mi salud mental. ¡Ay, qué exagerado soy!

¿Lecciones aprendidas? Pues que soy un hombre maduro. Las tareas les resolví con mucha naturalidad. Apenas noté que me había convertido en lo que mis padres eran para mí cuando fui un niño.

Estoy listo para limpiar mocos y cambiar pañales.

Otherwise, it might have been catastrophic for my mental health. Oh, how exaggerated of me !

Lessons learned? That I am a mature man. I solved the tasks very naturally. I hardly noticed that I had become what my parents were to me when I was a child.

I'm ready to wipe boogers and change diapers.
