The most puzzling financial contradiction:
A decade-long investment in the stock market seems lengthy to some, yet dedicating 30 years to a single job is considered standard.
Anyone else find this odd?

I think it's the fact that people struggle with looking at their future 30 years from now self. Also most would struggle trying to put away $500 a month into an IRA until they are around 30+ meaning they lost 10 years of investing already.
That's a real hurdle. Starting late means missing out on years of compounding. Even $100 a month in your 20s can grow massively by 50. It’s all about getting that early momentum going.
