Deadline Day Drama

As he stood at the airport gate, suitcase in hand, his phone lit up with a message that changed everything. As he slowly read through the message tears flowed freely down his cheek. He momentarily looked sideways to check if anybody was actually watching him, but the truth is that his eyes were already blurred by tears.

This was a situation Joe had wanted to avoid in the first place. All his pleas for a second chance fell on deaf ears. He even offered to take a paycut just to remain with the team he had been with from his academy days but the manager and even the club management felt otherwise. Joe was told that his services were no longer needed as they deemed him surplus to requirement.

Joe slowly reached out for his white handkerchief and wiped his eyes. He had ultimately reached a point of no return as his new club was already waiting for him to be unveiled to their waiting fans. His flight ✈️ will take off in few minutes time and he needs to board same.

With a trembling hand he held his suitcase closely and trudged on to board his flight. Let me go to where I'll be valued he finally muttered.
