Saturday Savers 2025 Progress Report - Week 43
For the first time in what feels like ages, I'm actually doing my #SaturdaySavers update on a Saturday ! Yay me 😁

Here's my table of progress for the week;

How Did The Week Go ?
I still spent a big chunk of the week recovering from the previous week's flu bug, as well as trying to catch up on all the work I'd fallen behind on. Unloading and checking in a complete pallet-full of stock from Spain is definitely a time-consuming business !
Despite that, I managed to increase my Hive posting output a little, so it's heading in the right direction again. Curation is still a bit more chaotic than I'd like - I'm diving into my notifications, reading and upvoting a few posts, but without my normal consistency. It'll get there again, it might just take a little time.
The price of HIVE appears to be bobbing along at the new bottom it's found. Hopefully it will go back up again a bit, although the pattern over the last year has been a slow steady decline.
I'm glad I've focused so heavily on HBD; it hasn't been holding it's peg brilliantly over the last couple of weeks, but is still within an acceptable range.
I'm expecting the value of my HBD holding to increase very soon. The Chancellor of the Exchequer here in the UK is expected to deliver an Autumn Budget jammed full of tax rises, out-of-control government borrowing and spending. The revelation of just how fragile the UK economy is will likely to cause the British Pound to absolutely dump on the foreign exchange markets, so any investment denominated in US dollars is a win right now, even though the dollar itself is facing some headwinds (primarily down to tariffs and rapid de-dollarisation by those BRICS economies that still hold any USD assets).
So that was my week - I hope yours was a good one ! Don't forget that next Saturday is HPUD ! 😁

If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.
If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.
I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.
So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
