"Welcome, welcome everyone to the Annual Ingrim Mountains inter-tribal Goblinball Championship Finals !" The ogre announcer's voice rang out loudly across the playing area.

The field was a flattened space between two peaks; the rising ground on all sides was crowded with orcs, goblins, trolls and ogres from all of the orc tribes of the Ingrim Mountains, shouting, cheering on their favourites, drinking and (of course) fighting.

"Before we begin, I will remind you of the rules. The ball is held by the goblin. To score a goal, you just have to get the ball across the line at the far end of the pitch. If you protect the goblin and can get both ball and goblin across the line together, it counts double. If the goblin is alive, it counts treble, and if the goblin is alive and still has head and all limbs attached, it counts quadruple. Gouging and biting is allowed, but no weapons. When I blow the horn, we begin."

On the left side of the pitch were the Chipped Cleaver Tribe's team, in purple. On the right was the Bloody Peaks Tribe's team, the defending champions, in green.

And standing in the centre of the pitch in gold armour, clutching the ball, was the small, lonely figure of Fazzag the Goblin. As the ogre raised the horn to it's lips, he let out a whine and quietly relived himself. He knew that protecting the goblin didn't go very far when two savage teams of giant orcs were fighting over him.

Hahaha! I like it! It's like Bloodbowl, but a specific ruleset for Orcs!

Yep ! I took inspiration from a combination of that and English medieval inter-village football (which was a pretty rough & tumble affair !)

Then I thought to myself "what would a goblin's role in this be" and came up with only one amusing answer; "The ball". 😁
