With the cable Ferries of Basel
Today, I invite you to enjoy a unique experience in Basel that will take you from one side of the Rhine to the other. Basel has four cable car ferries that offer a quick and cheap way to get from one side to the other. These crossings are much more than just a form of transport, they are an experience that offers a glimpse into the history, culture, and charm of Basel.
The Basel ferries dont use engines they are fixed on a long metal cable and move from one bank to the other simply thanks to the river current. They operate all year round and offer a peaceful experience where time seems to stand still. Only the water level is very high, the ferries stop to run. You can also rent for events.
No engine, no vibration, jus the silentpull of water and a great views with beautiful panoramas of Basel.
