The floating city

Venice the capital of Veneto in north Italy with more than 100 small island built in an Adriatic lagoon. With the gondolas and the water cab as well as its historical architecture Venice is one of the most beautiful romantic cities in the world.

The best time to travel here is april or may as well as september to november. The best way to explore the city is on foot. At boat is about 30-50 euro in price.

In about 4 hours by car from Lugano it is quickly possible to travel in one day, but it is a pity not to stay at least two nights.

Unfortunately, the pearl of Adria is not only flooding, but sinking at the same time. A few millimeters each year the ground under the city is sinking into the lagoon.

Here the square of St. Mark with the St. Mark's Cathedral with its bell tower surrounded by bars and restaurants that invite the tourists for a coffee or more.

With its masks, the Venetian Carnival is one of the most famous in the world. Its origins go far back into the 12th century.
With dance, music and amasing costume has also been celebrated this year in February joyful and colorful.
