Roman soldiers in Alba Julia
For today I have more about the festival in Alba Iulia, Romania. The Apulum Roman festival is one of those events that feels like stepping back in time. The citadel itself makes the perfect stage, it feels authentic and very impressive.
It is not just a show, here you have to chance to talk to reenactors who really know the history. It was a balance of fun spectacle and genuine history.
Roman soldiers carried usually in battle 20-25 kg., on the marsh sometimes up to 30-40 kg.
Have a Great day!

Hearing they carried 30 to 40 kg on a march is wild. My gym bag feels heavy at 8 and and I already need a break. Your writeup defintely makes the citadel and the reenactors feel alive, taht mix of fun and real history really works. Adding Alba Iulia to my trip list from Bangalore.
Looks like an amazing festival, history truly brought alive there.... @almi I’ve been trying to contact you on discord. If it’s possible, can we talk? I really needed some help which seems quite urgent. Please 🙏
Appreciate how the sun rays shine on the place with the shadow of the buildings taking their share of the space. Beautiful costumes.
