A festival in the city

avatar

It was in summer on my trip along Romania in the city of Alba Iulia. The old town stands on the ruins of ancient Apulum, the largest Roman city in the province of Dacia and was also its political, economic, military, and cultural center. At this time, the Festival takes place, which runs annually for four days and brings together about 300 historical reenactors, Roman soldiers and civilians, Dacian warriors, gladiators, craftsmen, and dancers.

Here the statue of Michael the Brave, ruler of Wallachia (1593–1600), ruled from November 1599 to September 1600 of Alba Iulia, the capital of the Principality of Transylvania.
