The Butterfly Cow | La vaca Mariposa ✨LMAC Round 213✨

Hello everyone, here is my participation in the LMAC Round 213 of the Let's Make a Collage contest, which is an initiative of @shaka and @lmac.

When I saw the image, the song “La vaca Mariposa” (The Butterfly Cow), performed by our international singer Simón Díaz, immediately came to mind. It is the story of a cow, who gives birth to her calf and hides it with concern, because she knows what its destiny will be, sooner or later. It reflects the protection and tenderness of a mother. It is a song that takes me with nostalgia for my childhood in the Venezuelan plains. Simón Díaz was a Venezuelan composer and singer, a worthy representative of our folk music. At the end, I include the song.

I have exclusively used images from our #lmac library; these are the sources.:

Process / Proceso

For this round, I decided to accept the challenge of making my first double exposure with the Gimp program. The image provided by @shaka took me to places that make me feel very good, the countryside and all that it represents. Well, let's go with the process. I manipulated the image several times reflecting it until I got my first scenario to work with. I also fine-tuned with the tools scissors, free selection, and magic wand my central figure the cow on which I would make the double exposure. I was giving life with different elements from our #LMAC library, so different animals were appearing, using selection and transformation tools, so the number of layers was growing. When I had the desired number of elements, I worked with the painting tools, with the color tools: levels, chromatic tone, brightness, contrast, and exposure. The brush and eraser were used, as well as layer masks. A new background image was also included. Then all layers were combined into one, except the cow layer. The cow layer was then transformed into alpha selection and the combination layer was selected with the invert tool, deleted and my double exposure effect was ready. With the resize tool I made adjustments for a better finish and also manipulated the percentage of opacity to the desired, to generate the double image and finally, the result you see. I have attached images of the process.

Process / Proceso

I listened to the song. What a beautiful voice. I can imagine a child being lulled to sleep with that voice :)

I can see how the song inspired the collage. It is a gentle, fantastical image. Cows are such good mothers. We can feel her sorrow as she contemplates her calf's future.

Good luck this week, @almajandra

Greetings Lady @agmoore, thank you for your kind words. Many times I was lulled with that song, it is very special to me. Everything can be a stimulus and a trigger to relive moments and stimulate our creativity. I also think that cows are very protective and tender with their calves.
Thank you so much for your good wishes, so be it.
Happy week Lady !HUG !LUV !LADY

Hello dear @redheadpei I always like and appreciate your opinions. Yes, Spanish is my mother tongue, it's the same with your language, it's hard for me to understand it. But translators are wonderful, through them borders are broken and we can communicate. It is a song with a melody that invites to sociego, the lyrics are beautiful that worked for me as a lullaby many times, it is a pleasant memory of my childhood. Here are the lyrics, in your language.

The cow Butterfly had a calf
A very pretty calf like a baby
Give him to me Papaito the kids say when they see him born
And she hides him in the hills out of sight
The cow Butterfly had a calf

The Sevannah offers new life*
All the litte streams bring him flowers at dawn
And she hides him in the hills out of sight
The cow Butterfly had a calf

And the parakeets go and the sparrow hawk too
With local fruits even the caney for him
And Butterfly doesn't know what to do
Because she knows his fate

And the parakeets go and the sparrow hawk too
With local fruits even the caney for him
And Butterfly doesn't know what to do
Because she knows his fate

The cow Butterfly had a calf
A very pretty calf like a baby
Give him to me Papaito the kids say when they see him born
And she hides him in the hills out of sight
The cow Butterfly had a calf

The Sevannah offers new life
All the litte streams bring him flowers at dawn
And she hides him in the hills out of sight
The cow Butterfly had a calf

And the parakeets go and the sparrow hawk too
With local fruits even the caney for him
And Butterfly doesn't know what to do
Because she knows his fate
The cow Butterfly had a calf.

Happy week !HUG !LUV !LADY

Nothing to thank dear @redheadpei. On the contrary, the one who is grateful is me🤗🙌❤️, because your comment made me reflect. Among the many wonderful things that Hive has, one of its priorities is undoubtedly to strengthen communication between all of us. Sometimes we write and we don't realize how far we can go considering the language facilitation. It has been a learning experience, in the future to include a song in my language, to put the lyrics in English, facilitates the interaction considerably. Thank you very much for generating these constructive reflections. I appreciate your support. Happy day to you !HUG !LUV !PIZZA
