The Second Chance At Little Leagues | Battle Mage Secrets X Splinterlands
Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a battle where I got the better of the enemy while having a ranged bloodthirsty monster and he had a melee bloodthirsty monster.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 41 and there are 3 summoners to choose from: Water, Death, and Dragon. Each summoner could conjure up an amazing deck. Both me and my opposition chose the Death summoner.
Battle Rules:-
- Are you not Entertained: One additional gladiator monster could be used in the deck.
- Little Leagues: Only monsters and Summoners with less than 4 mana can be used in battle.
- Born Again: All monsters have the rebirth ability.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5)
Tank: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenge, Backfire).
Melee Attacker: Shdaow Snitch(Ability: Reach).
Ranged Attackers: Ravenhood Warden(Ability: Protect), Whistling Damon(Ability: Snipe, Bloodthirst).
Magic Attackers: Venari Bonesmith(Ability: Life Leech, Poison), Revealer(Ability: Stun).
My strategy was to use Riftwing's backfire ability. That way, when the enemy troops would miss their mark, they would get a damage of 2. I used Warden for its shield, that way, each monster on death would get a shield. I used Damon* in the back hoping to get a kill with it and get its bloodlust triggered. Bonesmith and *Revealer were a failsafe. If things did not go how I wanted, I would have to rely on the poison and stun it would inflict on the tank.
My overall damage per round was 7. Adding in the poison it comes to 9 damage per round. Adding in the bloodlust trigger would increase by 1 per kill, and hence the overall would increase by 1. Through the scavenge, there is also an HP increase that depends on the number of monsters that would fall per round.
Now, for the opposition:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 2 Gold Foil)
Tank: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenge).
Ranged Attacker: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Ravenhood Warden(Ability: Protect, Soul Strangler(No Ability).
Blocked Melee Attacker: Trapp Falloway(Ability: Weaken, Bloodlust).
Magic Attacker: Life Sapper(Ability: Life Leech).
His strategy was to get the martyr effect on Riftwing and his bloodthirsty monster, that way he would have more overall damage and a greater chance to evade incoming attacks. He also used Warden to protect his troops with a shield which would again be refilled after death.
His overall damage per round was 5. The only way of an HP increase depends on the number of monsters that would fall per round for his Riftwing. His only hope of further increasing his overall damage was through his bloodthirsty monster who, on kill, would increase its HP linearly.

Results
This battle could've gone either way. Thanks to my Riftwing's backfire ability, 2 of his monsters were taken out effortlessly. Moreover, Trapp was a threat that was eliminated rather quickly given his high HP in the battle. If not for my failsafe monsters, I would've lost.
