Today, I will share a battle that had all the excitement a Gold League battle should have and this time, my opposition was a worthy adversary than all others I have faced this past week.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 50 and all summoners are available.

Battle Rules:-

  • Super Sneak: All melee monsters have sneak ability.
  • Up to Eleven: All units have amplify ability.
  • Briar Patch: All units have thorns ability.

Keeping the huge mana cap, available summoners, and battle rules, I decided to choose a summoner that had high-class monsters with medium-high range mana costing units. It is the death summoner.

Battle Details

Let's start the deck deconstruction from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic damage by 1 for all enemy unis)(level 5)

Tank: Mantaroth(Ability: Shield, Armoured strike).

Melee Attackers: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Healing, Thorns), Disintegrator(Abilty: Demoralize, Trample), Harklaw(Ability: Shield, Immunity, Demoralize).

Ranged Attackers: Weirding Warrior(Ability: Shatter), Raa(Ability: Flying, Scattershot, Double Strike).

My strategy was to reduce the incoming melee damage by 2 for each melee attackers and in turn get hit with 2 damage through thorns and go for an all out strike where my melee units would target him from the back while my ranged attackers would hit him from the front. I used Mantaroth as tank because of it's armoured strike ability and the fact that he has insanely high Hp. There is a special reason why I chose Weirding Warrior amid my other high-mana-class monsters, it's because it ahs the ability to instantly shatter the shield of the opposition's tank. That way, I get to tear off that armour and really insert the pain into their tank.

The overall damage per round is 19 with a healing of 3 and a reduced melee damage by 2 for each melee attacker.

Now for the opposition's deck deconstruction.

Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: Increase in magic damage by 1 for all ally units(Level 5)

Tank: Grund(Ability: Double strike).

Magic Attackers: Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank heal, affliction), Queen Mycelia(Ability: Protec), Magi of Chaos(No Ability), Regal Peryton(Ability: Flying), Mycelic Slipspawn(Ability: Taunt, Forcefield).

His strategy was to divert all incoming attacks toward his collossal Splispawn while every other monster would target my tank as he had a deck trained to attack from the front. He wanted to burn through he front one monster at a time while his tank would get healed up and have my tanks get hit with affliction.

His overall damage per round is 20 per round with a healing of 3.

Major Events

Round 1

Screenshot (763).png

The first monster to fall was his Splipspawn as it could no longer take in the damage after a third of the round has passed. Thanks to my summoner and demoralize ability holders, his overall damage output was reduced to 9 damage per round with an overall reduced HP of 6.

The second monster to fall was his useless tank as it did not put a dent on my tank but it sure got hit with those thorns damage.

Round 2

Screenshot (765).png

The third monster to fall was my tank as it could no longer take the barrage of confirmed damage from his magic attackers near the start of the round.

Screenshot (766).png

The next monster to fall moments later is the Goblin as it did not receive the turn to heal itself.

Round 3

Screenshot (770).png

Near the start of the round, his Queen fell and made it into a 2 v 5 in my favour.

Screenshot (771).png

After half the round has passed, my second tank fell and it was brought down to 2 v 4. I still had the overall higher Hp.

Screenshot (772).png

Near the end of the round, Peryton flew it's last lap and fell thanks to Raa.

Consequently, Magi gets taken out thanks to the Disintegrator.

Results

Trying out unique monsters and testing thier usefulness is what I like to do, especially when they seem like a waste of space and money. It's only during the unique situations is when they can shine thier best. This one battle with it's unique battle rules combo was perfect to test Raa's ability against unsuspecting players. Next time, I hope it get to use yet another unique monster with more abilities or just high damage. P.s I knew I was going to win this battle the moment I saw my summoner's ability overshadows his summoner's ability.
