The End of It all… ~ The Walking Dead

Today, I have a small yet significant part to the story of Clementine and Lee which I will share with you guys.
If you are like me who doesn’t like to read long paragraphs, skip to the end for the gameplay and enjoy the novel of Sean Vanaman, Mark Darin, and Gary Whitta where they graciously filled it with blood and gore.
Before we begin, let’s do a small recap of the event that lead the gang to this stage. And if you want to read the whole thing, visit this post.
Previously
The gang infiltrated Crawford quietly thanks to Vernon. He knew the sweet systems too well. But, they discovered that the place was run by zombies. They managed to escape the zombies’ sight and enter red the building and found the command center. There, they marked the 3 things they were after on the map. Fuel from the shed beside maintenance shed, battery from the motor shop, and medicines for Omid and Vernon’s people from the Nurse’s station.
They split up and planned to meet each other back at the room.
Lee and Molly procured the battery but Molly leaves with it as an insurance that they won’t leave without her. She told that she had some “unfinished business” to attend to.
Lee, on the way to the room, found Kenny and Brie chased by horde of zombies. He used his hatchet to block the entrance and returned to the class. Kenny and Brie were also successful in getting the fuel for the boat.
Lee went to check up on Christa and Vernon, there they found that the medical cabinet had a digital lock combination of 4 digit. Lee found a tape nearby and played it on the camcorder. There he found a doctor that he had met in the alleyway to the garage with Molly. It was the doctor. He went back to the alleyway and retrieved it, played it and got the combination locks.
Ont eh way back tor he class, Lee meets Molly. She said she was “sightseeing”. They couldn’t celebrate their little victory for too long since on their way they found Ben with the hatchet that Lee had stuck on the door. The zombies stormed the place once again.
They got inside the command center and counted the necessary materials. But, Ben’s guilt of inadvertently killing Kenny’s wife and child was eating him up, so much that he ended up spilling the truth about him suppling the bandits by stealing it from them. That got Kenny super furious. Lee and Vernon held him and told that all of them will die if they don’t get out of there. They broke through the armoury and got some guns and headed to the top of the place where a bell situated.
Everyone got off the place and through to the sewer system. Ben was caught off guard by a zombie that had been tied to the bell. He fell off the top of the stairs but Lee caught him, and saved him.
Back at the house, Omid was getting better. Vernon proposed a deal to Lee tanga he would take care of Clementine since they were well hidden and well stocked, they could give Clementine a proper home, Lee said that he would consider his deal. Molly also dashed and said that she never liked the water anyways. And that she would figure things out her own way since Crawford was no more.
Clementine received the sad news that they won’t have enough time to go look for her parents since Kenny wound get the boat running within a few hours. She cried herself to sleep. Lee tried to reach for her but he stepped back and slept on the sofa behind her. When he got up, she was nowhere. Only her walkie-talkie was left behind.
Lee grabbed it and headed downstairs with no one in sight. In the backyard, he found Clementine’s cap… on the ground.
This Time
Lee heads out to the street, hoping to find a playful girl int he streets. But there too was an eerie silence. He hears a small shift in the dump.
He reached for the wood to look behind the cause of the sound and just then a walker jumped toward his hand, taking a few slashes of meat off of his hand. Lee jumped back, the walker leapt for it’s prey again but this time Lee captured the zombie and thrashed it off the wall. The was dazed and fell to the ground, Lee gave a good kick to its head where it breathed its last.
A sharp pain surged from his hand, he looked toward it only to find that he was condemned… to die. He couldn’t believe it himself, he was both shocked and hurt to find that after all that he had been through, his time became limited.
The clamour attracted everyone present in the house to show up outside. Kenny asked if Lee had seen Vernon. Christa came up close and found a drops on blood on the floor. Lee decided not to conceal it to everyone. He turned and showed them that he was bitten.
Christa and Omid were sad, Kenny almost couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw it.
Lee told that Clementine was missing and last saw her that night. Now both of them were missing. Christa was ready to go look for her. He turned to Kenny. Kenny told that Lee wasn’t exactly in his side this entire time, that he had been keeping the scores and he reached a conclusion that Lee wasn’t exactly helping Kenny as much as he was looking out for himself. Lee asked Kenny one more time before giving up.
Lee turned to Ben. He told him to remember that Clementine was the first one to vote a “yes” for him to be on the boat. Ben told that he would return the favour and thus he was ready to help Lee go find her.
Lee and the gang headed straight to Vernon’s lair, in the sewers.
They entered the place only to find it evacuated, no rodents or roaches. Empty as a shell. Lee shouted, “z Vernon, give us the girl and nobody has to get hurt”. No reply was received. Lee got frustrated, his hands were on his head when suddenly his walkie-talkie came to life. It was Clementine’s voice.
Lee ecstatically reached it and asked where she was… no reply. Lee threatened Vernon to return her but a man voice echoed through the room saying, “This isn’t Vernon”.
And that’s the end of the episode.
I was shown the choices I had picked and the amount of people that had made the same choices who officially got the game. I mean, we all know there’s been plenty of people that played the crack version but still, it, according to me, gave a good example of me being a normal person🥲. How? Since most of the choices I made was in alignment with the bigger populace.
The only thing I didn’t know I could’ve done is not kill the dead boy in the attic at the house. I could’ve walked away from him but I decided to put him to rest and laid him beside his faithful dog.
A lot of combinations here for “Who came with you?”. I wonder what would’ve happened if Lee had gotten there alone. For that, I just might play this game again or watch another YouTube do it.
