Today, I will share a battle where I gambled my chances on victory in the Gold Leagues on a monster that may have been the worst choice ever! My opposition must've been mad at Lady Luck for not picking up what I threw down.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

sps.PNG

The mana cap is 29, and there are 5 summoners to choose from: Fire, Nature, Life, Death, and Dragon.

Battle Rules:-

  • Holy Protection: All units have divine shield.
  • Aiimless: All units with magic and arrow attacks have Scattershot ability.
  • Taking Sides: Summoning neutral units are barred.

Keeping the mana cap, available summoners, and battle rules in mind, I decided to go with the summoner that would grant me high-class monsters with cheaper mana cost, which is the death summoner.

Let's start the deck deconstruction from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in Hp and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(level 5)

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple*).

Magic Attacker: Kain Hace(Ability: Blast, Deflect).

Blocked Melee Attacker: Corpse Fiend(No Ability).

My strategy was to hit him from all sides and maintain a consistent damage output through those separate hits. I placed Corpse in the back to deter any sneak attackers from the opposition's side, as it can take 2 hits. I placed Windeku as a tank as it has high HP with self-healing abilities and has high speed, and placed Thug behind it to make a more impactful hurt on their tank. I placed Sha-vi in the second last position for it to be able to attack without much hindrance. Lastly, I placed Kain in the middle of the deck as I wanted the battle rules' scattershot ability to trigger as much as possible, and with the blast ability, it can do some serious damage.

The overall damage per round is 17 with a healing of 3.

Now for the opposition's turn:

Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: Increase in magic damage by 1 for all ally monsters with magic attack)(Level 3)

Tank: Mycellic Morphoid(Ability: Thorns).

Blocked Melee Attacker: Fungus Spawn(No Ability).

Magic Attackers: Mycellic Slipspawn(Ability: Taunt), Regal Peryton(Ability: Flying), Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank-heal, Affliction), Mycellic Queen(Ability: Protect, Amplify).

His strategy was to divert all incoming attacks toward his Slipspawn while all his magic attackers would shower the damage into my attackers' HP, while his dummy tanks would soak in the frontal damage from my tank. In case his dummy tanks fall, his Goblin would heal up his Slipspawn while his fastest attacker(Peryton) would attack first and hard. To make his dummy tanks and other attackers harder to touch, he used Queen Mycelia for its shield grants.

The overall damage per round is 12 with a healing of 2.

Major Events

In the starting round, his overall damage and HP was reduced by 4 thanks to my summoner's ability.
Round 2

Screenshot (778).png
The first unit to fall was his tank after a quarter of the round had passed.

Screenshot (779).png
The second unit to fall was my blocked melee attacker in the back and right after his second tank while his Slipspawn was still holding its place in the game after the third quarter of the game making it a fair 4 v 4.

Round 3

Screenshot (780).png
In the final half of the round, it was my Thug that got deleted by the thorns but moments later his Peryton's wings got cut off thanks to my Kain as no one touched it a second time.

Screenshot (781).png
The blast from Kain's magic attack took out his Slipspawn and reduced his Goblin's HP by 2, making it an easy 3 v 2.

Round 4

Screenshot (782).png
After half the round passed, my Kain's attack took out both his monsters in one go.

Results

It was absolutely diabolical that none of his monsters targetted my Kain Hace after it got attacked only once. I was gobsmacked to see his lineup after I had okayed for the battle and thought that it was over fo me since any of his magic attackers would eliminate my only magic attacker at any time thanks to the scattershot. Thanks to this lucky accident, I got the chance to claim an awesome double hit kill in at the end of the round.
