(I didn’t know A.I could be this accurate, it got the what I wanted to bring it out. An image of what Katrelba Gobson would look like in real life).

Today, I finally got to a battle that I am ecstatic to share. This one is from a time when I was at the tip of the Silver leagues overlooking the Gold 3 leagues. This was a battle from before the rebellion and before the "Great Burn" of SPS. A simple battle based on a full barrage of attacks with hidden agenda through strategies. A long-forgotten battle that I found at the end of my notes.

P.S.: I have a habit of saving the best battles for watching.

Without further ado, let's start the battle discussion.

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 32 and there are 5 summoners available: Fire, Nature, Life, Death, and Dragon. Since the mana cap was high, Life or Fire summoner was an ideal choice but I had better monsters in the Death faction, not to mention my summoner itself was of a higher level than the rest. So, I chose Thaddius Brood.

Battle rules:

  • Armoured up: All monsters get +2 shield.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Uraeus(Ability: Sneak).
Magic Attackers: Venari Bonesmith(Ability: Life Leech, Poison), Kain Hace(Ability: Blast, Reflection Shield).
Blocked Attackers: Carrion Shade(Ability: Flying).

My strategy was to hit him from the front with a head-on charge while doing a small attack from the back. I kept a monster with flying ability in the hopes of warding off any melee attackers that might come at me from the back. I used my Bonesmith to inflict a poison effect on his tank and other monsters while the other magic damage dealer would do a huge damage of blast.

My overall damage was 12. Adding in the damage from thorns, poison, leech, and blast it comes down to a grand total of 18 damage per round with an increase in HP by 1.

Now for the opposition's turn.

Summoner: Lobb Lowland(Ability: Decrease in speed by 1 for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Pelacor Mercenary(Ability: Flying).

Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Matyr), Fungus Flinger(Ability: Martyr).
Melee Attackers: Katrelba Gobson(Ability: Bloodlust, Sneak, Double Strike).
Magic Attackers: Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank Heal, Affliction).
Blocked Attackers: Mycelic Morphoid(Ability: Thorns).

His strategy was to hit me from the back with his bloodthirsty monster while healing his tank with the Goblin that had the ability to fly. He kept the Morphoid in the back as a form of shield with a thorns ability.

The overall damage per round is 13. Should the martyr effect come into effect, that damage would increase by 2 per sound. Should the bloodlust get triggered, the damage also increases by 2 per round. Adding in the healing by the Goblin, it comes to a damage of 17 per round with healing of 2.

Major Events

Round 1

Screenshot (126).png

The game starts off with the exchange of summoner traits, game conditions, and monsters abilities. The first monster to fall was my Carrion Shade. It could not dodge the bloodthirsty monster. That increased his overall damage to 15.

Round 2

Screenshot (129).png

At the start of the second round, tmr Uraeus bites the dust thank to his Katrelba again. This increased his overall damage to 17 and decreased my overall damage by 2 to 16.

Screenshot (130).png

Somehow, my monsters managed to beat his tank and evened the odd to a 5 v 4.

Screenshot (131).png

His Marksrat fell within moments as well. But, this only increased his overall damage for his bloodthirsty monster even though the overall damage decreased by 2 to 14.

Round 3

Screenshot (133).png

My tank fell while he triggered bloodlust ability again and increased his overall damage by 2 to 16 while mine decreased to 11.

Screenshot (135).png

His Katrelba finally gets hit with the poison debuff by my Bonesmith.

Round 4

Screenshot (137).png

Katrelba was at its lowest HP but it beat my Arachne Thug during its turn and gained bloodlust. That way, it’s speed, shield, HP, and damage increased by 1. His overall damage was increased to 16 while my damage decreased to 8.

Screenshot (139).png

And at the end of the 5th round, his bloodthirsty monster fell thanks to my Kain Hace. The blast also affected the Fungus Flinger that triggered the martyr ability on the Goblin. This move instantly decreased his overall damage from 16 to 2.

Round 5

Screenshot (140).png

The Goblin also gets hit with the poison debuff thanks to my Bonesmith.

Screenshot (141).png

Morphoid gets hit with the blast damage and gets eliminated.

Round 6

And finally, his Goblin remained Psychic no longer.

Results

The battle outcome shocked me just as much as it might’ve been for you. The moment I saw that he had Katrelba, I thought to myself, “Another one in the dust, damn”. I skipped it only to find out that I had won. Then, I rechecked it and found where the tables had turned.

I got 3500 RP and a modest rating gain in the silver leagues to 1300+ rating. I hope I get to this level by this season too. But, with the rebellion, it might be a tad bit difficult.
