Fist Fight At The Clouds ~ Battle of The Sages | Battle Mage Secrets X Splinterlands
Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well today.
Today, I will share with you guys a battle that was extremely chaotic since a bunch of bloodthirsty monsters were used. Best of all, the battle rules match the requirements for the Battle Mage Secrets, an event celebrated every week by many members of the Splinterlands community who also have battled with the same rules and share their strategy and monster selection.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 29 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Nature, Death, and Dragon. This was perfect for a decent monster lineup with my Death summoner. The opposition used a distinguished summoner from the Nature department.
Battle Rules:-
- Maneuvres: All units gain reach.
- Up close and personal: Only monsters with melee attacks may be used in battle.
- Equalizer: The initial health of all monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base Health.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters).
Tank: Dumacke Orc(Ability: Shield).
Melee Attackers: Possessed Doll(Ability: Double strike), Uraeus(Ability: Sneak, Poison), Undead Badger(Ability: Sneak).
Blocked Attackers: Disintegrater(Ability: Demoralize, Trample), Corpse Fiend(No Ability).
My strategy was to use monsters with the lowest HP but high damage. That way, my overall damage would be high along with high HP. I used Uraeus for its poison ability. I used Disintegrater to reduce the opposition's overall melee damage by 1, and kept Fiend in the back as a shield for potential attacks from the back. Everyone else was a result of choosing Puppet for the first time.
My overall damage per round is 12 per round. Adding in the poison effect, it comes to 14 damage per round.
Now, for the opposition.
Summoner: Lobb Lowland(Ability: Decrease in speed for all opposition monsters; allows the use of 1 gladiator monster).
Tank: Dumacke Orc(Ability: Shield).
Melee Attackers: Quora Towershead(Ability: Bloodlust, Heal).
Blocked Melee Attackers: Gargoya Lion(Ability: Flying), Mycelic Morphoid(Ability: Thorns), Furious Chicken(No Ability).
His strategy was to protect himself from the back with 3 dead attackers all while his ace(Quora) would try and conquer his opponents and trigger its bloodlust. He used the perfect shield of a warrior as the tank just like me.
His overall damage per round is 7 damage per round with 3 HP healing. Should the bloodlust trigger, it increases by 2 each time.

His grave mistake was using 3 monsters in the back who were non-attackers while betting it all in Quora. Firstly, my summoner decreases his magic damage, and then Disintegrater reduces his overall damage by 2 each round. That way, apart from his Orc no other melee attackers could scratch the shield of my Orc.
Next, his overall damage was about half of mine even though he got an HP increase of 3. He would've had a high chance of winning if he managed a bit more damage.
