First day in KL- Condor and It’s amazing luxuries | The People Are Welcoming, The Place… Beautiful! Day 2 In KL
Hello, people in Hove. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I have a few updates to share on my journey through Malaysia. I visited a few locations and was surprised to see how friendly and welcoming the locals are.
Without further ado, let’s begin!
After landing at the KL International Airport, we took a ride using Grab and went to Sefina, Mont Kiara. In one of those high-cityscape, I got into my aunt’s apartment where her parents and kid lived which was at the 7th floor. The view from it’s balcony was breathtaking, it actually feels that I am somewhere bourgeois. And the sky, this place has the best sky.
After getting accustomed with the time… which I didn’t. I asked them if we could head out and see what this place held and maybe head out soon. My uncle and grand parents were shook and asked me I really didn’t want to rest up. I asked my cousin to show me around the place and he, energetically, called out my brother and uncle to show the area as well.
The first stop was the indoor Badminton area. Located just 3 floors above the ground floor and boy did this place have an inexhaustible amount of shuttles. I remember that back in my university, shortage of shuttles was a daily occurrence. I asked the grandees if the people there liked Badminton, they said the people loved it there. They also liked other sports. I wished for a table tennis there but to no avail.
To check why this place had such commodity, I called up my friend who studies at UTM, a prestigious public university in Malaysia and asked if Malaysians play badminton or table tennis more.
The immediate place I saw after the court was this amazing pool area. The interesting fact about this one is that the Malay government made a rule that stated that every swimming pool needed to have a constant water level whereas in Bangladesh, the pool’s depth level increases as you go further and further the line by about 0.5-1 meter max.
At the other side of it, it has a nice library but I found no crime or detective genre books. Only books related to health, wealth, and life. The core beliefs that most westerners have.
At least, they have amazing seats basking in sunlight, overlooking the fiery streets. I call it fiery because it is unbearably hot.
Next, we headed downstairs to head to the nearest convenient store and possibly buy something local to drink later at night, when we would come out.
That is when I met 2 bad boys staying at the car park. The first one was this amazing Tesla, maybe a common car in this posh region but damn it looks good.
The second car was mind boggling. A cayman Porsche. The owner of this one must’ve been a multimillionaire.
Before we reached the gates, I found the list of activities to be done in here written out on a wooden surfboard.
The path lead to a small garden of sorts which I’m sure no one used because of all the mosquitoes there and also that the place was extremely hot. The heated up rocks would be unbearable to sit on during evening hours but it’s perfect for winter season though.
Lastly, I saw a volley ball area where the adults came out to play for fun. Very tall people here I must admit as this sport was not for me.
Beside the guards room was this plant. A red ginger button plant, most likely a coming plant in this part of the earth.
We went toward a nearby 7 eleven store. We passed a few more Kiara avenues and the cars that got out of them were surreal, they had a Chevrolet, a Mercedes, and Teslas almost everywhere. I remember when I tried to cross the street, a car that just got out of the building stopped and allowed me through. This happened not once but several times. I honestly would never be this lucky to see a Bangladeshi driver stop their car consecutively.
After the morning tour, my brother, uncle, and cousin headed out once again.
The first night at KL and the graffiti I discovered is a bit of a hardcore and maybe a tad bit effed up. The only thing I can make out is Allah is… the next may be a curse or something nice.
The nearest convenient store location just 2 minute of walk away from my place had all the goodness a boy with great taste needs. A spicy hot sauce, all different kinds of noodles, and the best chips and chocolate combos. I grabbed a hot sauce and chocolate.
The next place was a store close to this one. It had a number of stores that I had always seen in the gram and reels.
I found a few noodle shop and I was wondering if they were authentic. Then I saw the cloths with symbols drawn on placed on top, the ones I used to see in cartoons. I judged it to be authentic but I didn’t get anything from here. Dinner was already ready at time and this was just a hop, skip, and jump across town for educational purposes.
The last place I visited was a shop in the side. It had both pork and wine… things a Muslim should not have… and this is the first time I saw pork and wine. Not as impressed as I thought I was be but the fat content is high here… no wonder the people love it.
Before leaving, I grabbed a coffee can which I thought I would never try out of curiosity… because I usually never have coffee or drinks that came with cans. It didn’t have a chocolaty taste like I expected it to be as it has the image of a chocolate there.
Later, we found a money exchange as we were about to leave this spot. It was closed and the prices it showed were for the day before.
Finally, before leaving I encountered a funny thing. A lady of, maybe western origin, asked my uncle to help her catch a pigeon and put it back in a container. He agreed. A few Chinese teens showed up as well and the 4 cornered the bird that didn’t think to fly off and caught the bird and put it inside a cardboard box. Maybe it was a preset of sorts lmao.
And that was the end of an amazing day with new aspects and new people to see. Man, the people are too sweet and kind and would love have them as my neighbour.
