I !HOPE the same !INDEED, but alas it is likely not the case! I will say, however, that the default white background for many websites and apps hurts my eyes more than my flashy smiley face ever did. I despise white backgrounds. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I think it's true that white background hurts the eyes more than your animated flashing smiley image. 🤔 You might write this down as a "benefit" of using that image. 😅

People also say that white background uses up more energy (especially on mobile devices with limited battery capacity). 🤯🤓

Exactly, which makes it all the funnier that so many devs default to white UIs. That's the very first thing I change, instant dark mode. Yep, it does use more energy. Dark mode should be the default, especially on mobile devices. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Certain web browsers (such as Brave Browser) have an experimental feature that forces Dark Mode on websites, even on those that don't support it. 🤔🤓

I think that some users would rather avoid websites that don't support dark mode altogether, instead of making the web browser force dark mode on them. 🤔🤯😅

A temporary solution to avoid hurting the eyes when looking at a website with a (very) bright interface is to increase the ambient brightness around the device. 🤓😅

Haha...people were still fascinated by the novelty of it all. Now, however, since it's clear that there are many different ways to make a website, there is a lot more discernment I'd say. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

We are now in Web 3.0 where a single (blogging) platform (whether blockchain-based such as Hive, or non-blockchain such as Nostr) can have a whole set of different frontends such that users won't get stuck on an interface they don't like. 😎🤓

I far prefer web-3 variants, and definitely blockchain-based ones. I've heard of Nostr, but I've never tried it yet. It's very interesting and curious that it's web 3, but not blockchain-based. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

While not based on blockchain, Nostr is also censorship-resistant. 🤓 Any post or comment published there would get broadcast to multiple relays, so any content would not be gone unless all relays decide to delete the said content. 😏

Monetization on Nostr is not built-in, but devs can create dApps on Nostr that support various cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin Lightning and Bitcoin Cash). 🤓

I'd be open to that. I know I saw an invite link in someone's post recently, I just have to remember who. I'm on a great many platforms, aside from the four social blockchains that I've already mentioned, so it wouldn't hurt! I like learning about new infrastructures! You don't need an invite link to join Nostr. 😅 Invite links on Nostr are generally used in Nostr dapps that have monetary features (such as BTC LN and/or BCH) built-in. 🤓

That's true. It was actually from the large amount of PKOIN that I made on Bastyon from upvotes, as well as staking them for two rounds on a community node, that allowed me to do my mega-powerup to dolphin level on the December HPUD. Bastyon is more similar to Hive than Qortal is, even having its own reputation system. Qortal is a very different animal, with QORT being made from running a minting node. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I tried to look how nodes work on #Bastyon on this page, and apparently, they offer a download only for a Windows node even if I was using another OS. 🤔🤯😅

I so far haven't tried to run a Bastyon node, so I can't speak from experience, though I did just take a quick look, and I see that there is node software for Debian/Ubuntu/Mint .DEB installations, as well as for Windows 10 and 11, along with a Docker setup. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
