Today is 4 May, better known as Star Wars Day. It is not an official day, but a day chosen by fans. Somehow, after Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, it became an official day because of marketing. The first Star Wars film, which was released in cinemas on 25 May 1977, contains the slogan: ‘The Force be with you’. 25 May is celebrated as Greek Pride Day. The slogan was changed to May the 4th be with you. It was also used for Margaret Thatcher's candidacy for the elections on 4 May 1979. Everything that came after that only established the day.
When I was little, the Star Wars films were the first ones I saw. I think I was 10 or so, and I loved them. Today, with the new technology, they may look dated, but the story behind them and how they were made will continue to be the foundation of the series' success.
Today, it has become more of a sales machine where they try to sell a lot of things. There are also good projects that have come out of it, like the series Andor and The Mandalorian, as well as the film Rogue One. They are good, or at least I liked them. I used to watch them on business trips where there were streaming services, and it was a good change from going into town.

Als ich klein war, waren die Star Wars-Filme die ersten, die ich gesehen habe. Ich glaube, ich war 10 oder so, und ich habe sie geliebt. Heute, mit der neuen Technologie, können sie veraltet aussehen, aber die Geschichte dahinter und wie sie gemacht wurden, wird weiterhin die Grundlage für den Erfolg der Serie sein.
Heute ist es eher zu einer Verkaufsmaschine geworden, wo man vieles versucht zu verkaufen. Es gibt auch gute Projekte die daraus entstanden sind, wie die Serien Andor und The Mandalorian, sowie der Film Rogue One. Die sind gut, oder zumindest habe ich diese gemocht. Ich habe sie mir auf Dienstreisen angesehen, wo es Streaming-Dienste gab, und es war eine gute Abwechslung, als in die Stadt zu gehen.

Die ersten Star Wars Filme (Episode 4 bis 6) habe ich ebenfalls als Kind gesehen (Baujahr 1975). Diese waren die besten der Reihe. Danach ist für mich nur The Mandalorian erwähnenswert. Wenn ich an Dschadscha-Dingens denke wird mir anders…. !LOL ichsebinse..

You're just about my age then, because that's when I got hooked on Star Wars too. Still have a bunch of the collectors cards from the first movie. I won't be spending any money on items this time around though, Disney has put a figurative stake through Star Wars heart already!

Ich liebe Star Wars und hab mittlerweile alles gesehen, was veröffentlicht wurde und zum offiziellen Kanon gehört. Nächstes Ziel ist das ein oder andere Buch zu lesen, da gibt es auch richtig gute.
Welches Buch würdest du empfehlen?
Habe noch keines selber gelesen, deswegen kann ich dazu nichts sagen. 😅
Aber im Subbreddit r/StarWars wird immer mal wieder zum ein oder anderen Buch etwas geschrieben.
