Johann Peter Weißmüller, better known as Johnny Weißmüller, was born 121 years ago. He was born in Freidorf near Timisoara, not far from where I come from. I actually worked in Freidorf for a year, so I know the area very well.
I played water polo like him, because I found his story very exciting. Unfortunately, I didn't win an Olympic medal and was only on the national team for 2 games in my youth. But let's move on to Johnny. He had won 5 Olympic gold medals and was never beaten in swimming. He was the first person to swim the 100 metres under 1 minute and his best time was a world record for 10 years. Besides swimming, Johnny is known for Tarzan. He played the original Tarzan.
I find his life inspiring and motivating. Do you know Tarzan?

vor 121 Jahren wurde Johann Peter Weißmüller, besser bekannt als Johnny Weißmüller, geboren. Er kam zur Welt im Freidorf bei Temeschburg, nicht weit von wo ich herkomme. Eigentlich habe ich in Freidorf für ein Jahr gearbeitet, also kenne ich die Gegend sehr gut.
Ich habe Wasserball gespielt, wie er, den ich fand seine Geschichte sehr spannend. Leider habe ich keine Olympiamedaille gewonnen, und war nur für 2 Spiele in meiner Jugend bei der Nationalmannschaft. Aber lass uns zu Johnny kommen. Er hatte 5 Olympiagoldmedaillen gewonnen und wurde nie in Schwimmen besiegt. Er war der erste Mensch, der unter 1 Minute die 100 m geschwommen ist und seine Bestzeit war Weltrekord für 10 Jahre. Neben Schwimmen, ist Johnny für Tarzan bekannt. Er spielte den originalen Tarzan.

Yes, it was a classic back in the day.
Ich habe die Tarzanfilme früher als Kind gesehen. Ich glaube allerdings, heutzutage kannst du damit keinen mehr vor den Fernseher locken.
Heute haben wir deutlich andere Erwartungen, und die Technologie hat einen riesigen Fortschritt gemacht.
