There was drama again surrounding the topic of downvotes. This post is only for clarification, as many of my statements have been twisted and rephrased differently than they were originally said. I am in favor of downvotes because there should be a mechanism against abuse of the chain. I have been around for almost nine years and have seen a lot. There are very dark sides to the chain where downvotes are needed. In addition to the content published by very bad people on the chain, there are also automated or AI-generated posts. The issue is divisive, because some see it as abuse and rank it higher than plagiarism. I am neutral on this, but would like to see people who automate or use AI mention this in two lines at the end. Another issue is contests, which can also lead to abuse. There are people who create very good contests that are original and require a lot of effort. I consider these to be normal posts.
Over the past two days, I have advised some users to simply open a new account in the event of a wave of downvotes. However, I never mentioned that they should abuse the chain. There are people—without getting personal again—who use downvotes as a political measure to manipulate the chain. I also consider that to be abuse. That's just my personal opinion, because everyone can do what they want with their Hivepower. Of course, the more Hivepower you have, the easier it is to get voted up, and the harder the downvotes come. If I had 3 million HP right now, there would most likely be no downvotes. It is what it is, and I'm not complaining.
And yes, I think people should downvote more. But first, you should talk to the person. If they continue to abuse the chain, then you should downvote them. When you open an account here, there are hardly any tutorials, and you feel almost lost at first. There are projects that help new accounts, but many fall through the cracks and don't get any support on how to behave here. Of course, none of us were born with knowledge. I was lucky enough to have someone guide me personally, and I am very grateful to that person. But downvotes are necessary because we also want to attract people who write on Medium or Reddit, for example. There have been some powerful things here, such as Neil Strauss with his longer interview than the original publication in Rolling Stone magazine, or books that were first written page by page here and then published.
Due to my Central European heritage, I am very direct. When something is said, it is addressed and the point is closed. It is out there and that is that. In my opinion, life is too short to dwell on disputes. In the end, you can understand each other once everything has been said. Then you try to find a solution and move on. I have experienced a lot and realized that arguments are not important in the long run, but health and family are. I have made many valuable acquaintances on the chain. They are worth much more to me than the three HBDs by mail, and that's why I'm still here. Unlike LinkedIn, you can meet very interesting people here who are in a completely different social environment, but who have enriched my life.
What I suggest is that each of us look in the mirror and ask ourselves if we are doing the right thing. Over the past two days, I have been unnecessarily personal, which is something I actually want to avoid. Sorry about that behaviour. Es gab wieder Drama rund um das Thema Downvotes. Dieser Beitrag dient nur der Klarstellung, da viele meiner Aussagen verdreht und anders formuliert werden, als sie gesagt wurden. Neben den von sehr schlechten Menschen auf der Chain veröffentlichten Inhalten gibt es auch automatisierte oder mit KI erstellte Beiträge. Das Thema ist zwiegespalten, denn einige sehen es als Missbrauch und stufen es höher ein als Plagiate. Hierzu bin ich neutral, würde aber gerne sehen, dass die Leute, die automatisieren oder KI benutzen, dies in zwei Zeilen am Ende erwähnen. Ein weiteres Thema sind Gewinnspiele, bei denen ebenfalls Missbrauch entstehen kann. Es gibt Leute, die sehr gute Gewinnspiele machen, die originell sind und bei denen sie viel Mühe investieren. Diese sehe ich als normale Beiträge.
In den letzten zwei Tagen habe ich einigen Usern geraten, bei einer Downvote-Welle einfach ein neues Konto zu eröffnen. Ich habe aber nie erwähnt, dass sie die Chain missbrauchen sollen. Es gibt Leute – ohne jetzt wieder persönlich zu werden –, die die Downvotes als politische Maßnahme nutzen, um die Chain zu manipulieren. Das empfinde ich auch als Missbrauch. Das ist nur meine persönliche Meinung, denn jeder kann mit seiner Hivepower machen, was er will. Natürlich wird es umso einfacher gevotet zu werden, je mehr Hivepower man hat, und umso härter kommen die Downvotes. Hätte ich jetzt 3 Millionen HP, gäbe es höchstwahrscheinlich keine Downvotes. Es ist, wie es ist, und ich meckere nicht.
Und ja, ich finde, man sollte mehr downvoten. Zunächst sollte man jedoch mit der Person sprechen. Wenn sie die Chain weiterhin missbraucht, sollte man sie downvoten. Wenn man hier ein Konto eröffnet, gibt es kaum Tutorials und man ist am Anfang fast verloren. Es gibt zwar Projekte, die neuen Konten helfen, aber viele fallen durch das Sieb und bekommen keine Unterstützung, wie man sich hier zu verhalten hat. Natürlich wurde keiner von uns mit Wissen geboren. Ich hatte das Glück, von jemandem persönlich begleitet zu werden, und dieser Person bin ich sehr dankbar. Downvotes sind aber nötig, denn wir wollen auch Leute anziehen, die zum Beispiel auf Medium oder Reddit schreiben. Es gab starke Sachen hier, wie zum Beispiel Neil Strauss mit seinem längeren Interview als die Erstveröffentlichung im Rolling-Stone-Magazin oder Bücher, die man erst hier Seite für Seite geschrieben und danach veröffentlicht hat.
Aufgrund meiner zentralosteuropäischen Abstammung bin ich sehr direkt. Wenn etwas gesagt wurde, dann ist es ein Feedback aber Punkt ist von mir abgeschlossen. Es ist raus und gut. Meiner Ansicht nach ist das Leben zu kurz, um Streitigkeiten dauerhaft aufzubauschen. Am Ende kann man sich verstehen, wenn man alles gesagt hat. Dann versucht man, eine Lösung zu finden, und geht weiter. Ich habe vieles erlebt und festgestellt, dass Streit auf Dauer nicht wichtig ist, sondern Gesundheit und Familie. Auf der Chain habe ich sehr viele wertvolle Bekanntschaften gemacht. Die sind mir deutlich mehr wert als die drei HBD per Post, und darum bin ich noch da. Denn im Gegensatz zu LinkedIn kann man hier sehr spannende Leute begegnen, die in einem ganz anderen sozialen Umfeld sind, aber zumindest mein Leben bereichert haben.
Was ich vorschlage, ist, dass jeder von uns in den Spiegel schaut und sich fragt, ob er richtig handelt. In den letzten zwei Tagen war ich unnötig persönlich, was ich eigentlich vermeiden möchte. Entschuldigung dafür. Deswegen werde ich versuchen, das Drama zu vermeiden, weiterhin Leuten zu helfen und einfach hier aufzubauen. First of all, this is a good post, written from the heart. It is a 600 plus word post which is average size at hive. More importantly it talks about a message and your point of view. Whether I like it or not, agree with it or not: it’s a well articulated point of view.
If you posted content like this once a week or twice a week on various interesting topics I would engage and upvote it if I agree with it and see fit for the blockchain.
When I vote it is entirely my opinion on how vote it and what I feel good or bad the chain. No one can tell me how I vote or not vote. How I downvote or upvote is entirely upto me and me alone.
