Our Christmas

Good evening and Merry Christmas to all.
Yesterday was finally Christmas, and although it's a very special time of year, it felt quite different. It lacked a bit of excitement, or perhaps it's just that as we get older, things lose their meaning; I don't know. Even so, I tried to have a good time, although the atmosphere was rather dull. I need friends who will encourage me to step out of my comfort zone or who have plans that will make me feel the difference between a normal day and Christmas.

We didn't really do anything interesting. During the day I wrapped my son's Christmas presents to have everything ready for the evening. In the afternoon there was a bit of a Christmas atmosphere but there wasn't much noise yet. We were waiting for the evening, quite bored to be honest.

The only thing I loved was eating all day. We ate so much, and I even made a tres leches cake, which we all love. It's my second time making it, and it turned out a thousand times better than the first. In the evening, we set up a table with all the things we bought for Christmas, and then we ate again, and we also drank wine.

Since I get sleepy early now, we decided to bring Christmas forward. My mom and I are already very sleepy by 8 pm, so from that time we planned everything so that at 9 pm my son would receive his gifts. We distracted him for a while by taking him out of the house while I got everything ready so he could come home and be surprised with his gifts under the tree.

Like every year, he opened his presents very happily and a little scared because he thought Santa was going to bring him coal, haha. He had time to play for a while until 11, and we finally rested, but the night was a bit overwhelming because outside there were a lot of loud and ugly fireworks, the kind that could give you a heart attack and sound like a nuclear bomb. I don't even want to imagine how scared the street animals were. My cat was quite calm since he was in a room where it wasn't so loud.
