Art and Creativity Journal: This Week I Painted — Week One, 2026
Decided that every Monday I'm going to post (mostly as a record for my own benefit, but also to share) a recap of my new work completed during the previous week. These are just the stones in "raw" format, before they get their protective finish coat.
I'm using the Danish numbering system for weeks that I grew up with, which means weeks start on Monday and end on Sunday.
Week One is a short week, with just four days.
AS26-001
Working a bit with the monochromatic, on a smaller stone. Sold a coupel of these — which were just an experiment — during 2025 holiday shows.

AS26-002
Medium-large stone from the last Pacific Coast haul, using what I consider to be an "Andean" color palette. Will look more vibrant after finish coat.
This is a semi-commission item, because it is going to be gifted to a friend of my wife's who used to be the publicist for the late Mayan spiritual leader, Hunbatz Men.
Shown with a dime for scale reference.
AS26-003
Smaller Heart Chakra stone, in traditional green shades. This will be interesting to see after finish coat, as the stone itself is bright green when wet.

AS26-004

This is a larger and quite colorful stone (photo taken late at night; no natural light), and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
It was one I wasn't even sure I wanted to paint because it has a "pit" at the edge (in about the 2:30 position), but it was so nice and smooth I didn't just want to throw it back.
This was a lot of work for a single day, but I stuck with it.

And that's it, for the first week of 2026. I'm not too displeased with the work... I do need to order more paint, though.
