Art and Creativity Journal: Last Week I Painted — Week Five, 2026
This time, we not only made it to Week Five of my new work recaps, but also to the month of February; conitnuing to share painted stones completed during the previous week. These are just pictures of the stones just painted in "raw" format, before they get their protective finish coat.
I'm using the Danish numbering system for weeks that I grew up with, which means weeks start on Monday and end on Sunday. As much as anything, the purpose of these posts is to create a "catalog" of sorts.
It was another pretty good week, although I was rather busy with other — non-creative — stuff, as well.
AS26-023, AS26-024, AS26-025:
Three pretty small stones that will all end up in my wife's collection of "party favors" that she likes to give to her counseling clients. The way I see it, it's good marketing, in the long run.
AS26-026:
Similar idea to the above, except this one is a little too large to be a free giveaway.
AS26-027:
Yes, the hearts are pretty prosaic, but we've got Valentine's Day right around the corner, and these are among the few things I manage to sell online, on a fairly regular basis.
AS26-028:
First SET I have painted this yes; this is what we call a "protection set" which some people among our customer base use as part of spiritual rituals. I actually quite enjoy painting sets... there's a challenge in creating "similar but different" stones that go together. Sets have a single serial number for all stones in the set.
AS26-029:
A simpler design on a smaller stone. These go into our pre-bagged gift lots that sell for $12 each at fairs and festivals.
AS26-030:
This is pretty much the first stone I have painted this year purely because "I needed to paint something every day," and so I don't feel like it is one of my best efforts. But someone will like it... that often happens: The stones I don't think much of end up being the first to sell!
AS26-031:
This felt like a very "wintry" pattern to me... likely inspired by the fact that it was cold, rainy and windy while I painted it!
AS26-032:
I really like this one, painted last night. The base stone is pure white and is actually a piece of hardened chalk, found on a beach in Denmark when we were last over there. I may end up keeping it — we'll see.
This past week I also ended up putting finish coats on the first batch of about 22 stones, previously painted.
They all turned out quite well... no runs or failures. Now they just need to cure for a bit, and then they will get photographed and put into the Etsy store. Or maybe my new PeakD store!

Thank you! Painting the stones is definitely a great meditation.
It has been very interesting to watch various rock painting groups arise all around the world — including Kindness Rocks — and so many people got involved.
I actually started doing this long before there were rock painting groups and I imagine I will probably be doing it after rock painting groups give way to other popular hobbies!

Sometimes I do get special requests, but they can be difficult to fill because people have a certain picture in their imagination and it's very difficult to execute that to turn out the way they thought it was going to turn out.
