SOLUTION TO MATH EXAMS QUESTION //TRIGONOMETRY Q7//
Hello everyone,
It’s another beautiful day with Math, where every concept is broken down into the simplest form for anyone to understand.
In this video, I explain the step-by-step process of solving Question 7 from the topic Trigonometry, which involves proving the fundamental identity formula:
sin²θ + cos²θ = 1.
I began by drawing a right-angled triangle, involving both the X-axis and Y-axis, and used the concept of SOHCAHTOA to derive the values of x and y based on sine and cosine definitions.
Next, I substituted these values into the Pythagorean Theorem:
x² + y² = r².
From there, I expressed and simplified the equation, eventually arriving at the required identity:
sin²θ + cos²θ = 1.
