TOUCHING LIVES THROUGH REACHOUT AND HUMANITARIAN SERVICE

Hello everyone, and welcome to another beautiful week with the Hive-Reachout Community! This week (Prompt 43), I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the theme: “Reachout and Humanitarian Service.”

This is something that my friends and I are already practicing, and I truly wish that every individual would see it as a responsibility to reach out to the poor, the sick, the vulnerable, and the less privileged. These acts of kindness can be carried out individually or as a team, regardless of our financial capacity. For me, the best investment one can make is to invest in the life of someone by lifting them; either financially, academically or otherwise.

One of my friends always says, “No matter how bad your condition is at the moment, you are still better than someone out there.” And that’s very true. Sometimes, when you think you’re going through the worst, meeting someone else may reveal that your situation is far better than theirs. For this reason, I believe that if everyone got involved in practicing Reachout and Humanitarian Service, the world would be a much better place to live in.
It might surprise you to know how many lives are lost daily due to a lack of access to proper medical care or simply because of hunger. So, if individuals, organizations, or governments begin to see it as a responsibility to extend a helping hand to those in need, we could see a significant reduction in poverty and death rates.

In the area of education and skill acquisition, we would also experience tremendous positive change. Personally, I know what lack of finance has done to hinder my own growth and development. I have business ideas that could positively impact the economy, but the lack of funding slows me down. Similarly, some of my friends, and many of the youths I’ve interacted with, are ready to put their creativity to good use, but they are constantly limited by the lack of capital and resources. If more organizations or government bodies were willing to reach out and offer support, it would go a long way in changing lives.

In our little capacity, my friends and I were able to form a group dedicated to assisting Orphans, Widows and Less privileged. Through monthly contributions and free-will donations from individuals who support our vision and mission, we reach out to those we identify as being in need. We also organize annual programs to provide as much support as we can.
