Hello everyone! Welcome to Hive Music Festival Week 135, Round 3. I’m @akwash360, and I’m excited to share my music submission for this week. For this edition, I’ve chosen to do a cover of the powerful gospel song “You Are God” by Nathaniel Bassey, a well-known Nigerian gospel artist, pastor, and songwriter.

This song deeply resonates with me because it speaks of the sovereignty and majesty of God. It reminds us that God is not bound by time, space, or human limitations. He owns the times and seasons, and He does things according to His divine will. The lyrics declare that God is unchangeable, unquestionable, and beyond human reasoning. That message brings me peace, especially when life feels uncertain. It reminds me that no matter what I’m going through, God is in control.

Beyond the song itself, I’m truly inspired by the life and ministry of Nathaniel Bassey. His dedication to serving God through music is admirable. He is not only gifted musically, but also spiritually disciplined and committed to spreading the gospel through worship. If I were to mention anyone in the gospel music space I look up to, it would be him. His consistency, humility, and passion for worship set a great example for our generation.

Now, speaking of the music itself, the production quality of “You Are God” is excellent. The lead vocals are powerful, and the backup singers complement the song beautifully with harmonies that elevate the message. The instrumentalists also deserve credit for their skill and sensitivity; their play is both soulful and precise, enhancing the worship atmosphere.
