I'm torn - A Poetic Practice
Write a love poem, but you must not include any of the following words:
Love
Heart
Life
Eyes
Beauty
I'm not sure if there is yearning
I'm into you that's a sure thing
You showed something deep
That scared me from trusting you
Longing for something greater
I'm finding shallow waters
Or at the least it's what I'm seeing
You're the sun that rises for me
The bloom that signals a new dawn
I'm just not sure you're really true
You pry at my secrets
Make me guilty i have them inside
Breaking me at the time
A ploy I'm sensing
Normally my gut tells me true
Like a scheme
A convenience for a time
To pass long moments
A passionate embrace, chased
You whisper sweet words
But I'm not sure if I'm the one being used
I saw a look
A very hard look
A memory of convenience
Of escaping at any means
Any way to get away
Steps just to get away
I'm in doubt
I'm torn
You use emotional blackmail
Feels like a need to step back
Beating like a drum
But now it's beating from fear
I'm not liking this
I'm in doubt
I'm torn
if you are torn,
there is porn.
shift with alacrity,
think with post-nut clarity.
Lol
That's a nice challenge !INDEED, creating a love poem that does not have the word "love" (along with several other words). 😏

It's interesting that, if you don't use some of the words commonly used in love poems, the poem drifts into a not-love poem. There's very little of what we think of as love in this piece.
I wonder if this person always has this response to love, or it he or she is in a bad relationship.
Interesting exercise and poem!
