Monomad: Reluctant to Fly

This is a mottled emigrant butterfly (Catopsilia pyranthe) belonging to the family Pieridae, a common species of butterfly found in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and parts of Australia.

I noticed the butterfly at rest on the bougainvillea plant in my yard. That afternoon the weather was scorching with strong winds; even a butterfly was reluctant to fly. Embracing the leaves was preferable to fighting the wind current and the heat.

Beautiful photographs. I know how difficult it can be to capture butterflies in photos, because if you get too close, they fly away quickly, which makes it quite a challenge. These are very beautiful photographs. I love them!
