Sharing and caring, that’s gardening / 挿し木や株分はガーデニングの楽しみ

I was transplanting plants I bought at the plant market I visited last weekend. Most of the plants I bought can be cuttings. I like to make cuttings from my plants even I don’t know who to give them. I take care cuttings as much as I do for their mama plants and give them to my family and friends. I also bring them to exchange shelves in the area I live in.

When I was staying in Split, Croatia two weeks ago for the Hive Fest, there was an organization giving away succulents in a park in the downtown. The succulents looked like home grown rather than bought at a store. I was curious and asked about their project. A woman said they try to prevent suicide. I believe a pot of plant, a silent friend, encourages human. She offered me one but since I took flight from Germany, I hesitated to take one. I feel I could have taken her offer while I am writing this post. I wish their project’s success.

Later I will bring some plants grew up well at my home to one of my favorite exchange shelves.

The calanchoe was the one I rescued in spring when it was almost thrown away. I'm happy to see it becomes four pots from one. I keep one for myself and give away other three.

This time I attached a note with the freshly printed Hive sticker 😊 I wonder some gardeners in the region jumps into Hive Blog. I'll see.

先週末に訪れた植物市で購入した植物の植え替えをしていました。購入した植物のほとんどは私のあるあるなのですが、挿し木ができる種類です。誰にあげるか決まっていなくても、私はよく挿し木や株分けをして新しい鉢を作ります。挿し木も、元の親植物と同じように大切に世話をして、家族や友人にあげます。地域の交換棚に持って行くこともあります。

2週間前、Hive Festのためにクロアチアのスプリトに滞在していた時、ダウンタウンの公園で多肉植物を配布している人たちがいました。お店で買ったものというよりも、自分たちで育ててわけている感じで、興味を持ってプロジェクトについて尋ねると、自殺を防ぐための活動をしているとのことでした。たった一つの植物の鉢でも、誰かを励ますってあるんだろうなとプロジェクトの成功を願って、がんばってくださいと伝えました。

今日はうちで分けて育った植物のいくつかを、私の好きな交換棚のひとつに持って行く予定です。春に捨てられそうになっていたのをもらってきたカランコエも、無事に4つの鉢に増えました。1つは自分用に残して、他の3つを譲ろうと思います。

今回は、新しく印刷したHiveステッカーで説明を添えてみました 😊 地元のガーデナーがHive Blogに飛び込んでくれるかな？？様子を見てみましょう。
